Morning flight from Addis Ababa to Semera where you meet your driver and begin the journey into the Afar region. Drive through the dramatic desert landscapes toward Lake Afdera, one of the lowest points in Ethiopia. Along the way you will see traditional Afar villages, camel caravans, and vast lava fields that shape this unique environment. Arrive at Lake Afdera, a salty lake famous for its traditional salt mining activities and stunning desert views. Local workers cut salt blocks directly from the lake and transport them by camel caravans across the desert.
