Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
We pick you up from the airport, then depart to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch. You will head out for an afternoon game drive, which will take place in the afternoon between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm. On this game drive, you will get the final catch of animals while they are out of their hides to hunt for their last meal of the day. You will find the reptiles bathing in the sun, while the other animals that graze will be assembling for a rest. You will have dinner and spend the night at the camp. Day 2
Amboseli National Park
This being a full day at the park, it will be a busy day. There will be an early morning game drive between 6:00 am and 9:00 am to catch up with the African sunrise. This will always be the most rewarding game drive time, since you will find that the majority of the animals are very active and look for food for the day in the open savannah grassland. You'll return to your lodge/camp and have a quick breakfast. Later, you will have a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. You will return for dinner and an overnight stay at your camp. Day 3
Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, you will head for Tsavo National Park with an en route morning game drive, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The park has a variety of fauna that includes the aardwolf, buffalo, the Tsavo lions a population whose adult male often lacks a mane, gazelles, duikers’ eland, the giraffe, spotted and striped hyenas, wild dogs, impalas, leopard, different species of primates, the plain and the gravy’s zebra, hartebeest, and has 500 bird species recorded including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, weaver birds, kingfishers, hornbills, secretary birds, and herons. The park is also known for being a home of elephants, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, diverse plants, and bird species, including the threatened corncrake and near-threatened Basra reed warblers. Tsavo West National Park to Diani Beach
After an early morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. From here, you will transfer to Voi Train Station, where you will board your train to Mombasa, arriving at precisely 2:00 pm. You will be picked up by a transfer driver who will drop you off at your hotel or villa in Mombasa or Diani. Stay at Diani Beach
Diani Beach is generally known for its coral reefs, black and white colobus monkeys, and for the closely located Shimba Hills National Reserve. It is a wildlife reserve that looks out over the Indian Ocean. The Mwalunganje Elephants Sanctuary is a conservation area for elephants located in the north of Shimba Hills National Reserve. I was referred to Arzoni Africa Safaris by a friend. My Canadian boyfriend informed me around June that he was planning to have spend a two weeks safari and beach relaxation in Kenya and Tanzania. Parks of his interest were Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Amboseli, Taita hills, Ol Pajeta and Lake Naivasha. Sam made our safari planning seamless and every request by my boyfriend and I were considered in the final itinerary. Overally, we had 10 days of safari and 4 nights in Zanzibar. The choice of accommodations was amazing and our expectations were met. Food was also excellent except in Elewana Tortilis (Amboseli) which were somewhat too spicy.
