Day 1
Our driver-guide will pick you up from the Airport at 8:00 am or earlier to start the 3-hour journey to Volcanoes National Park. Before embarking on the journey, you will go for a tour of 4 places within the city. These include the genocide memorial Centre in Kigali, the main city market, the former presidential palace museum, and artisan shops for souvenirs. After the city tour, you will start the journey to Volcanoes National Park. The journey to Volcanoes National Park is short but rewarding. You will be rewarded with amazing scenery and beautiful countryside. From the amazing volcanoes and beautiful hills of Rwanda to the thick forests, expect a real treat if you love nature. Lunch will be taken along the way, and you should reach late in the afternoon. Once you reach your hotel, you'll check in, shower, and relax as you prepare for Golden Monkey tracking the next day. Mid-range lodge less than 1hr drive from Volcanoes NP (Gorillas, Rwanda) Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
After your breakfast, you will head straight to the Volcanoes National Park offices for a briefing on golden monkey trekking. The rangers will share with you information about the park, the creatures therein, the golden monkey troops, how to behave around Golden monkeys, and what to expect. Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park usually takes between 3 and 5 hours. They are easy to locate because of their vocal nature. Their groups are also more dramatic compared to those of gorillas. Expect an hour full of action with the golden monkeys once you locate them. Take as many photos as you wish and then return to the accommodation. Return to the accommodation to have lunch. Later, you'll cross the border to Uganda, arriving in Bwindi in the evening to relax at the lodge in preparation for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience the following day. Mid-range lodge just outside Rushaga (Bwindi Impenetrable NP, Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll transfer to the ranger station for a briefing. Here, you will be guided on the dos and don’ts during your interaction with the gorillas. Following the briefing, you will be accompanied by a senior ranger guide as you hike into the forest in search of the gorillas. Once located, you will typically spend an hour with them, observing these incredible creatures from a close distance of about 10 meters. After the experience, you’ll return to the lodge and spend the evening with the Batwa people. Mid-range lodge just outside Rushaga (Bwindi Impenetrable NP, Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is home to elephants, lions, hippos, buffalo, and baboons. You will go on a game drive in the afternoon. While exploring, keep an eye out for the unique tree-climbing lions, a rare sight in Africa. You will also have the chance to see some of Uganda’s largest elephant herds, buffalo herds, and numerous antelope species. Your overnight stay will be at the lodge. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, which is a prime spot for predators hunting their prey. This drive offers excellent opportunities to observe animals like jackals, bushbucks, forest hogs, buffalo, elephants, and kob as they go about their daily routines. In the afternoon, you'll take a scenic boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, known for its abundance of wildlife and birdlife. A Ugandan wildlife safari is often considered incomplete without this experience, as the channel attracts a large concentration of animals and birds coming to quench their thirst. The boat safari provides a close-up view of these creatures in their natural habitat. After the cruise, you will enjoy an evening game drive as you return to the lodge for your overnight stay. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll transfer to Kyambura Gorge to track chimpanzees in this dramatic landscape located on the eastern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park, about 35 kilometers from the lodge. The gorge is home to the park's only primates and serves as an essential water source for a variety of wildlife. Surrounded by savannah, the gorge is famous for its dense primate population, including chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, baboons, and vervet monkeys. The gorge is also known for its variety of bird species, including various falcons, the blue-headed bee-eater, and the African finfoot. Later, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Your overnight stay will be at the lodge. Luxury lodge located just outside Lake Mburo NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
You'll begin the day with a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park, an excellent way to experience wildlife without the noise of a vehicle engine. Walking allows you to immerse yourself in nature, hearing the sounds of the wilderness and observing wildlife up close. You’re likely to encounter animals such as warthogs, topis, impalas, duikers, bushbucks, waterbucks, and zebras. The number and variety of animals can vary depending on the season and grazing conditions, as they tend to gather where the grass is lushest. Watching animals on foot is peaceful and a totally different experience from being on a game drive— zebras may come towards you to check out the strange “relative without stripes.” You’ll return to the lodge for breakfast. Then, you'll transfer back to Entebbe, marking the conclusion of your tour. Your guide will drop you at your planned destination or transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
