Day 1
Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
This safari starts at 7:40 am from O.R. Tambo International Airport. The 6-hour journey to Phalaborwa ensures comfort in this town bordering Kruger Park. You'll meet your Wild Planet Safari guide and chef indulge in an expense lunch at a local restaurant and enter Kruger through Phalaborwa Gate for an extraordinary wildlife experience. The first safari drive explores Mopani and Bushwillow woodlands, known for elephants and buffalo herds, providing opportunities for captivating photographic memories. At sunset, the day ends at Letaba, a camp along the Letaba River. Arriving around 6:00 pm, you will settle into camp for the evening. Letaba Camp, our favorite, is not just a place to stay. You'll enjoy views of the Letaba River, and explore amenities such as Park Shop, swimming pool, and The Great Elephant Hall—a museum honoring the Park's majestic elephants. Day 2
Kruger National Park - Central Section
At sunrise, you'll venture into the landscapes surrounding Letaba for a game drive. This region of Kruger is celebrated for its spectacular herds of buffalos, elephants, and leopards along the Letaba River. Keep your camera ready to capture the diverse array of wildlife, from hippos and crocodiles to antelope species. Breakfast at a scenic picnic site, allows you to soak in the surroundings. The leisurely drive back to Letaba promises additional opportunities to spot wildlife. Upon returning to camp, take advantage of Letaba's various facilities, whether it's a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, exploring the park shop, or simply relaxing. Lunch will be served at camp, offering a delicious interlude before another exciting game drive in the late afternoon. You'll explore different corners of the area, maximizing our chances of encountering diverse wildlife. Day 3
Kruger National Park - Central Section
You'll begin with a sunrise drive along the Letaba River, heading east through the landscape that shelters a shy pride of lions. Following this drive, you'll return to the camp for a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you'll bid farewell to Letaba, heading south toward the next stop, Satara. You'll traverse savannah grasslands, a sanctuary for zebras and wildebeest. Upon reaching Satara, you will indulge in a freshly prepared lunch. Satara, nestled in Kruger's grasslands, is a haven for grazing animals. A waterhole near the camp offers opportunities to spot wildlife from the camp. Dinner tonight is at the camp restaurant at your own expense. The night unfolds with a shared night drive guided by a trained Kruger ranger, offering a chance to witness the park's nocturnal wonders. Day 4
Kruger National Park - Central Section
You'll begin with an enthralling game drive along the scenic N’wanetsi River road, known for frequent wildlife sightings. On one side, dense vegetation provides an ideal habitat for elusive leopards, while open plains on the other are perfect for cheetah encounters. The area is also a hotspot for lion sightings. You'll navigate the N’wanetsi River road, keeping an eye out for diverse wildlife—from white rhinos to herds of buffalos, blue wildebeest, zebras, kudu, and giraffes. Breakfast at a picnic site overlooks the Sweni River gorge. You'll continue through an area that hosts one of Kruger’s super prides—an impressive 20 lions. Returning to camp for lunch allows time to relax and enjoy the camp’s facilities. This afternoon, you'll explore along the Sweni road, seeking more lion sightings and, with luck, a glimpse of the wild dog. Day 5
Kruger National Park - Southern Section
The day begins with coffee, preparing to explore Satara's open grasslands, a perfect habitat for the cheetah. You'll return to the camp for breakfast, before your journey to Skukuza, your next destination. The 90km road offers opportunities for spotting lions along the way. You'll pause at two iconic water points known for attracting diverse animal species. Arriving at Skukuza around 1 pm, you will enjoy an own-expense lunch at the camp restaurant by the Sabie River. Skukuza is the largest camp and is also known for being the administrative hub of the Park. After lunch, you'll relax and explore the camp’s facilities. A swim in the pool, a visit to the park shop, or stroll along the walkway by the Sabie River. This afternoon, you'll go on another game drive in the Skukuza area, known for lion sightings. We aim to locate the impressive pride of 20 members. You'll end the day with a dinner under the stars served in our makeshift bush restaurant. Kruger National Park - Southern Section
At sunrise, you'll embark on a quest to discover the enchantment of the wilderness. Expert guides lead the way to areas known for high animal activity. The journey carries a sense of anticipation, each moment has potential for a magical wildlife encounter. A delightful breakfast awaits at our chosen picnic site, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscapes. You'll return to the camp, providing time to relax. After a leisurely break, you'll have lunch at the camp. The afternoon drive follows, on your quest to witness the diverse array of wildlife that calls this park home. The day concludes with a return to camp at sunset, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for the evening. Tonight’s dining experience is a sensory delight, with an open-fire cooking setup infusing the air with the aroma of the African bush. You'll enjoy dinner under the twinkling stars, in your enchanting bush restaurant—a truly magical conclusion to a day filled with exploration and wildlife wonders. Day 7
Kruger National Park - Southern Section
Today begins with a guided bush walk. Accompanied by a trained Kruger ranger, gaining insights such as animal tracking, and experiencing things often missed from a vehicle. You'll return from the bush walk, breakfast sets the tone for the day. You'll bid farewell to Skukuza as you begin a southerly route toward, Berg en Dal. Nestled in a mountainous region Berg en Dal's lush riverine forests, are known for high rainfall and serve as an ideal habitat for elephants, leopards, and the park's highest concentration of rhinos. This afternoon, your safari drive promises excitement as you search for the amazing wildlife that calls this region home. The mountainous terrain adds an extra layer of intrigue to our quest. Day 8
Kruger National Park - Southern Section
You'll begin with a morning coffee, setting the stage for a sunrise safari drive. Your route follows winding rivers, where the lower branches of trees might reveal elusive leopards. Navigating this terrain, we hope to encounter elephants, white rhinos, and the elusive black rhino—an exceptional sighting in this region. A break at a scenic picnic site allows you to enjoy breakfast amidst the bush, savoring the serenity of the African wilderness. Late morning, you'll return to camp, providing an opportunity to relax and enjoy the amenities that Berg en Dal offers. Lunch at camp is followed by relaxation, allowing you to indulge in the swimming pool, explore the souvenir shop, take in the sights at the waterhole, or embark on a self-guided walking trail. In the afternoon, you'll head on one last drive, anticipating the biodiversity of this area to unveil itself. Day 9
Kruger National Park to Johannesburg
The morning unfolds with one last safari, a journey along the Crocodile River. You'll search for any predators making their retreat, hoping for a final surprise from Kruger. With some luck, you might catch a glimpse of the resident pack of wild dogs, known to operate in the area around Berg en Dal—a fitting grand finale to our safari adventure. Upon your return, breakfast is served, providing an opportunity to relive the memories and share stories of the remarkable sightings you’ve experienced. Following breakfast, we’ll take you to the departure point for the return transfer from Kruger to Johannesburg. You’ll arrive in Johannesburg between 5 pm and 6 pm. Please note that if you have flights on this day, international flights should not be scheduled before 7 pm, and domestic flights should be booked before 8 pm. Perfect safari experience
At the beginning of November, we went on a three-day private safari with overnight stays at Skukuza Camp in Kruger National Park. The entire organisation and handling with Thale in advance was perfect, and we also received tips on how best to continue our journey in South Africa after the safari. We received an absolutely all-inclusive package. A transfer service in Johannesburg took us from the airport to Hazyview. There we met our guide Eric and the cook Keygi. We liked them both right from the start and they made us feel that we didn't have to worry or take care of anything. And that's exactly how the next few days went. We were treated to incredibly delicious food and saw fantastic wildlife in the park. Eric has been doing this for almost 20 years and was able to answer all our questions. We saw the Big Five within 1.5 days and much more. Wild Planet Safari offers an unforgettable experience with its all-inclusive service (transfer, accommodation, game drives and shared meals). We were able to concentrate fully on the animals and nature as we didn't have to worry about anything else. We can only recommend everyone to book a private safari here. If we ever get the chance to visit this beautiful place again, we will definitely book with Wild Planet Safari again. Many thanks to the entire Team.

It was perfect!
We booked a 4-day safari with Wild Planet, and Eric made it the most wonderful experience. He was a great safari guide, the best cook and we appreciated the time with him very much. Wonderful Trip!
We had a wonderful time touring Kruger National Park with Wild Planet Safari. We did an extended north to south tour and our guides, Eric and Ryan were great. Hope was our cook and his meals were wonderful! Thale took care of all the administrative details and was wonderful to work with. We hope to be able to do this again in the future!
