Entebbe is the main air gateway to Uganda. It stands on the northern shore of Lake Victoria —the world's second-largest water body —only an hour’s drive south of the capital Kampala. It's a very relaxed and low-rise city, offering a good choice of lakeshore restaurants, abundant greenery, and some of the best urban bird-watching anywhere in Africa. You'll spend one night at Frontiers Hotel Entebbe by the Lake Victoria as you prepare to get set to start your amazing 12-day adventure in Uganda. Day 2
There will be breakfast and then you'll embark on a transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary —a successful conservation effort that was set to save the near-extinct rhino population in Uganda. Today, you have a chance to encounter rhinos thanks to this effort. Once in Zziwa, you will proceed for an hour of on-foot rhino tracking. From the rhino tracking, you will drive off to Masindi where you will have a lunch stop. After lunch, you will embark on the last leg of your journey. You'll stay overnight at the booked accommodation in Murchison NP. *You can decide to do a game drive first and then finally, proceed to the booked accommodation. Otherwise, we can go straight to the accommodation, check-in, and stay at leisure. Mid-range lodge located just outside Murchison Falls NP All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 3
Today, you will have a full-packed wildlife viewing opportunity in the park. Murchison Falls NP is home to different wildlife species such as; buffalos, Jackson hartebeests, elephants, lions, giraffes, leopards, and hyenas, among others. They are widely spread all over the savannah grasslands, grazing or hunting for prey. These make the park's landscape so amazing for game viewing/game driving. After lunch, you can move back for the second leg of your wildlife viewing. After a satisfying day’s encounter, you'll head back to the lodge to freshen up— awaiting dinner and the overnight stay. #Optional (extra cost 30$ pp): If interested, you may consider the 11 am boat trip upstream towards the falls that also offers the opportunity to hike (extra 15$ pp) to the top of the falls. Common sightings along the banks are; hippos, crocodiles, and a few bird species. Mid-range lodge located just outside Murchison Falls NP All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 4
You will have breakfast and then drive to the top of the falls to truly appreciate the beauty and magnificence of the Murchison Falls. From the top, you'll embark on a transfer that will see you stay overnight at the edge of Kibale National Park. The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic —passing through villages, lush green countryside, and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way. Upon arrival at the accommodation, you'll check-in and just relax. *Optional (extra cost): If interested, you can proceed with the crater lakes excursion. You will enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views all over. Otherwise, just enjoy your rest at the facility. The Bigodi is also a paradise for bird watchers. Please, take note that the permit for chimp tracking needs to be secured before the actual date. From the Bigodi (or Kibale Forest), you'll embark (right away) on a transfer (about 2 hours) to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will reach Queen with some time available to move out for wildlife viewing. During the game drive/viewing, look out for wild animals like; lions, the elusive leopard, a herd of elephants, and buffaloes to mention but a few. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. 5.0/5We spent a week in Rwanda and Uganda with Able - his joy and love of life are infectious and he kept us laughing and full of energy. We loved all of his choices for lodging, and he broke up the longer drives by pointing out things of interest along the way. He was also a great cheerleader for us as we departed on our primate treks!
