Day 1
⛰️ On arrival in Windhoek or at the airport, meet your guide and begin the journey north to Waterberg Plateau Park. ⛰️ Rising dramatically above the surrounding savannah, the Waterberg Plateau is one of Namibia’s most scenic geological landmarks and an important sanctuary for endangered wildlife. ✔️ After check-in, enjoy your first guided game drive through the park. 🦏The reserve protects rare species such as roan antelope, sable antelope, Cape buffalo and both black and white rhino. The contrasting red sandstone cliffs, acacia woodland and open plains create spectacular scenery for photography and wildlife viewing. 🌅 End the afternoon with a sundowner overlooking the African bushveld — the perfect introduction to your remote northeastern Namibia expedition. Mid-range lodge located just outside Waterberg Plateau (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
🧭 After breakfast, travel northeast through commercial farmland toward the remote Bushmanland region. ✔️ Along the way, visit Hoba Meteorite, the world’s largest known intact meteorite, weighing approximately 60 tons. 🛖 Continuing eastward, the landscapes gradually become wilder and more isolated as you enter Bushmanland, home to the San communities and vast Kalahari woodlands. Arrive in Tsumkwe, the heart of this remote region, where the pace of life slows dramatically. 🛖 Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge while preparing for the true wilderness adventure ahead into one of Namibia’s least-visited safari regions. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Khaudum NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
🛖 This morning, experience one of the most authentic cultural encounters in southern Africa with the San people of Bushmanland. ✔️ Accompanied by local San guides, learn ancient survival skills developed over thousands of years in the Kalahari environment. ✔️ During the guided bush walk, discover traditional tracking techniques, hunting methods, medicinal plants, food gathering and storytelling traditions that connect deeply to the natural world. 🛖 The San are regarded as some of the earliest inhabitants of southern Africa, making this a truly meaningful cultural experience. After lunch, continue into the southern section of Khaudum National Park, one of the wildest and least developed national parks in Africa. ✔️Enjoy your first game drive through deep Kalahari sand and dense woodland before overnighting inside this remote wilderness. Mid-range tented camp located inside Khaudum NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
✔️ Spend the day exploring southern Khaudum on guided morning and afternoon game drives. 🧭 This immense unfenced wilderness is one of southern Africa’s last truly untouched safari destinations, offering raw and unpredictable wildlife encounters far from mass tourism. Khaudum lies between arid and wetter savannah ecosystems, allowing both desert-adapted and woodland species to thrive. 🐆 Search for elephant, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena and rare species such as roan antelope and African wild dog. ______________⭐️The isolation, silence and complete absence of crowds make Khaudum a dream destination for adventurous safari travellers seeking a genuine wilderness experience rarely found elsewhere in Africa. Mid-range tented camp located inside Khaudum NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
🧭 After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day private guided safari from southern to northern Khaudum with packed lunch enjoyed in the heart of the wilderness. ⭐️The park protects over 3,800 km² of untouched Kalahari sandveld habitat and serves as Namibia’s stronghold for roan antelope. ⭐️Wildlife sightings are dynamic due to the park’s unfenced nature, allowing seasonal wildlife movements between Namibia and Botswana. 🐘 Besides large elephant herds, look for blue wildebeest, eland, kudu, reedbuck, leopard, brown hyena and black-backed jackal. 🦅 Birding is equally rewarding with over 320 species recorded, including Bradfield’s hornbill, sharp-tailed starling and Senegal coucal. _________ ⭐️ This is authentic expedition-style safari travel through one of Africa’s least explored wildlife areas. Luxury lodge located inside Khaudum NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
🧭 Today explore the rugged northern section of Khaudum National Park around the infamous Khaudum waterholes. Deep sand tracks, dense woodland and vast unfenced terrain create a thrilling off-road safari atmosphere. 🐘 During the dry season, enormous elephant herds migrate from Botswana into northern Khaudum, with hundreds sometimes gathering around the waterholes. 🐕 This area is also one of Namibia’s best locations for rare predators including African wild dog and elusive leopard. ⭐️ Northern Khaudum rewards patience and adventure with exceptional sightings of roan antelope, tsessebe, red hartebeest and other species rarely encountered in more visited parks. The experience here is raw, remote and unforgettable. Luxury lodge located inside Khaudum NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
🧭 Leaving the isolation of Khaudum behind, travel westward toward the greener landscapes of the Kavango Region. ⭐️ The gradual return to villages, livestock and riverside communities feels like re-entering civilisation after days in complete wilderness. ✔️ Later, enjoy a guided game drive in the Mahango Core Area of Bwabwata National Park. This region offers some of Namibia’s richest wildlife habitats with floodplains, riverine forest and permanent water attracting large concentrations of animals. 🦛 Expect excellent chances to encounter elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, hippo, sable antelope, roan antelope and predators including lion and African wild dog. Mid-range lodge just outside Mahango GR (Zambezi Region, Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
🌎 Today is dedicated to exploring the spectacular Buffalo Core Area of Bwabwata National Park. 🌎 This lesser-known safari region is renowned for lush floodplains, riverine woodland and dramatic scenery contrasting sharply with Namibia’s deserts. The area forms part of a major wildlife migration corridor linking Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. ✔️ During the game drive, stop at scenic viewing points overlooking floodplains often filled with elephant and buffalo herds. The route also passes remnants of historical military infrastructure from Namibia’s past conflict era, adding a fascinating historical dimension to the safari experience. Mid-range lodge just outside Mahango GR (Zambezi Region, Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
🚤 Begin the day with a scenic boat cruise on the Okavango River, enjoying excellent birdlife and sightings of hippo and crocodile along the riverbanks. ✔️ Afterward, continue east into the Kwando Core Area of Bwabwata National Park within the vast KAZA Transfrontier Conservation Area — the largest conservation landscape in the world spanning five African countries. This remarkable region combines wildlife conservation with community-based living, where villages and wildlife coexist within shared landscapes. 🐃 The drive reveals changing scenery from woodlands to wetlands and offers opportunities to encounter elephant, buffalo and antelope moving freely across international wildlife corridors. Mid-range lodge just outside Bwabwata NP (Zambezi Region, Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 10
🧭 After breakfast, travel through Mudumu National Park en route to the remote Nkasa Rupara National Park, Namibia’s largest protected wetland area. ⭐️ Often compared to Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Nkasa Rupara is a hidden wilderness of lagoons, reed channels, floodplains and marshes supporting extraordinary biodiversity. 🐃 The park is famous for large buffalo herds, elephant concentrations and exceptional wetland wildlife. 🦡 Search for elusive species including sitatunga, puku and red lechwe while predators such as lion, leopard and African wild dog roam the area. 🦅Birding is world-class with more than 430 recorded species including Pel’s fishing owl and wattled crane. This is one of southern Africa’s most rewarding safari destinations for experienced wildlife travellers. Prev booked exceptional tours and locations, and lodgings. He took care of all of our needs. He communicated with us through What’s app. This was a great value for the cost.
Judy & Dan · United States
The suggested itinerary matched perfectly with our preferences. All accommodations were carefully chosen and according to our budget. Everything was very well planned and well communicated in advance (driving times, facilities, activities) and there was still room to profit from last minute opportunities. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable about animals, birds and the country. He was always in a good mood and eager to satisfy our requests and questions. PEA Tours has always been quick to respond when planning the tour. Our Namibian Grand Tour was a wonderful experience and highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Namibia.
