Kigali – Akagera National Park – Game Drive & Sunset Boat Safari
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Kigali around 7:00 AM. Enjoy a 2.5-hour scenic drive to Akagera National Park, passing through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside. Arrive at the park gate and check in, then embark on a short introductory game drive, exploring the southern sector of the park where you may spot zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, baboons, and giraffes. In the late afternoon, head to Lake Ihema for a relaxing sunset boat safari, offering a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, and water birds, all set against the backdrop of a glowing African sunset. Full-Day Guided Game Drive – Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, set off on a full-day game drive exploring the park from south to north. Drive through a variety of landscapes—open savannah, woodland, swamps, and lakes—offering diverse wildlife sightings. With a bit of luck, you may encounter lions, elephants, rhinos, and a wide range of antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, exit the park via the northern gate and begin your journey back to Kigali, arriving in the early evening. Drop-off at your hotel or residence.
