Day 1
Nairobi - Lake Elementaita - Soysambu Conservancy
Early morning pick-up (7.30 - 8.00am). Begin journey to Lake Elementaita with a brief stopover at the Rift Valley view point for a chance to take photographs of the escarpment. Arrive in Lake Elementaita in time for check-in, lunch, and a brief rest. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Soysambu Conservancy. Be on the lookout for resident lions, buffalo, leopard, hippo, hyena, jackal, eland, zebra, impala, Thompson’s and Grant’s Gazelle, waterbuck, reedbuck, warthog, steinbok, klipspringer, colobus monkey, vervet monkey and baboons. The Conservancy is also home to over 450 recorded species of birds and the endangered Nubian Giraffes. Lake Elementeita hosts the Pelican, flamingoes, hippos. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay. The camp offers beautiful views of the lake shores and wildlife roaming in the surrounding area. Optional activity: enjoy a night game drive in Soysambu. This activity incurs additional costs. Soysambu to Nairobi
Enjoy an early morning lakeside guided walk for bird watching. Return to the lodge/camp for breakfast and check-out. Depart for Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your preferred destination. End of tour/adventure. Optional activities: - Guided walk to the Kikopey hot springs on the shoreline. - Sleeping warrior hike- the hills offer panoramic views of the lake, volcanic landscapes, and wildlife. - Horse ride in Soysambu Conservancy- Horse rides can suit any level of ability and guests are provided with a helmet and are always accompanied by an experienced rider guide. - Camel treks/camel rides. - Lakeside breakfast. *Note: The optional activities are booked in advance and incur extra costs.
