Day 1
Nairobi to Chogoria, onward to chogoria bandas (3600 m asl)
Our driver will meet you at the airport and welcome you to the start of the most scenic ascent in Kenya. From Nairobi, enjoy a picturesque drive through the lush Central Highlands, skirting the eastern flanks of Mount Kenya. After approximately four hours, arrive in Chogoria, a small village at the foot of the mountain. Here, you’ll meet your mountain crew and organise equipment for your climb. Next, continue to the forest clearance barrier, where you’ll begin a 60–90 minute walk to the Chogoria Bandas. Upon arrival, your cook will have prepared a late afternoon lunch. Relax and rest in preparation for the trek the following morning. Dinner and overnight in the same camp. Day 2
Trek from chogoria bandas to Lake Ellis
After breakfast around 9:30 am, check in at Chogoria Gate and begin trekking uphill toward Lake Ellis. The trail is relatively easy, well-marked, and occasionally dotted with wildlife tracks. Highlights include the Giant Billards and Mugi Hills; you may veer slightly off the main path for a unique photo opportunity. Arrive at Lake Ellis Camp around 2:00 pm. Enjoy lunch, then explore nearby alpine features with your guide. Dinner and overnight at Lake Ellis Camp. All meals included Drinks not included

Day 3
Lake Ellis to Mintos Huts
Day three begins with a hearty breakfast before an exciting trek to rejoin the main Chogoria route at roughly 4,100 m. The three-hour hike follows a scenic mountain ridge, offering sweeping views of northern Moorland’s dramatic gorges and valleys. Stop for lunch at a charming stream, surrounded by stunning scenery. Afterward, continue for about an hour to reach the cozy Mintos Huts at approximately 4,200 m. Day 4
Summit to Point Lenana, descend to Shipton, then Old Moses
Wake up at 2:00 am for your final ascent. After a quick breakfast, trek to Point Lenana, aiming to summit point Lenana at sunrise. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, and the peaks of Mt. Kenya. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, descend to Shipton Camp for a hearty breakfast. Continue your descent through the stunning Mackinders Valley, arriving at Old Moses around 4:00 pm for a well-earned dinner. Day 5
Old Moses to Nairobi
After breakfast, descend along a broad track through lush bamboo forests and pristine rainforest. Meet your transfer vehicle for the ride back to Nanyuki town and onward to Nairobi, arriving around 3:00 pm. You have flexible descent options: you may walk the entire route, be picked up directly from the camp, or opt for a halfway transfer all at no extra cost. Good planning
I had a great experience on my Mount Kenya trip. The views were stunning and everything was well organized. Unfortunately, after summit day I had to cut the trek short due to sunstroke and altitude sickness. However, the early return was handled very smoothly, a driver was arranged to pick me up directly in the national park, which worked out perfectly. Overall, despite the unexpected change of plans, the trip was excellent and well managed.

We wanted to experience the very best of the Masai Mara safari, and although we booked just a month before our travel dates, January, the Dreamlike Africa team still managed to make it work beautifully. Though our preferred accommodation Mara Serena was already full, the team at dreamlike secured us a stay at Mara sopa lodge which though ranked lower was okey. Our guide David was attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made sure our 3-day stay was packed with sightings, including lions on the hunting. Very good experience.
It was a very good experience with our guide Maro. Game drives were nice, we had explanations when we were asking, water was included, we had time and we saw many animals. The roads from Tsavo to Amboseli are really bad in 2026 though. It could have been better to be in a more recent car, more comfortable.
