Day 1
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, a representative from Naleyo Tours & Travels will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. If time permits, you’ll enjoy a brief city tour, visiting some of Kigali’s vibrant craft markets where you can browse a range of handmade items like pottery, sculptures, fabrics, and more. These markets are a great place to pick up souvenirs, though all activities and purchases are at your own cost. Afterward, you’ll return to your hotel to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner. Day 2
After breakfast, your guide will take you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial for an insightful tour, where you’ll learn about Rwanda's history. Following the visit, you’ll begin your scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of East Africa's largest rainforests. Nyungwe is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, blue monkeys, and colobus monkeys, and is a birdwatcher's haven with over 310 species. You’ll enjoy a lunch stop along the way before reaching your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation. Day 3
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for chimpanzee tracking in either the Cyamudongo or Uwinka sections of Nyungwe Forest. After your exciting chimp encounter, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, experience East Africa’s only canopy walk, a 1½-hour adventure above the forest, where you can spot blue monkeys and various bird species. Day 4
After breakfast, you’ll begin your scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to the magnificent Virunga volcanoes. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes as you make your way to the nearby town of Musanze. Once you arrive, check in to your lodge with stunning views of the volcanoes. You’ll have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trekking adventure. Day 5
After breakfast, you’ll head to the park office where the head ranger will assign you to a group based on fitness level and interest. Then, you’ll trek to one of the habituated gorilla groups in Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll have the chance to observe these incredible creatures up close. In the afternoon, visit the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village, which focuses on conservation and community development by empowering reformed poachers and local communities through livelihood initiatives. Day 6
On your final day, you’ll head to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. These lively, endangered primates are known for their playful behavior as they leap and swing through the trees, making for a fascinating encounter. After the trek, you’ll return to your lodge for a relaxing lunch. Later, your guide will drive you back to Kigali Airport for your departure, bringing an end to your memorable Rwanda adventure.
