Day 1
Pick Up, Kigali City Tour and Transfer to the Hotel
Depending on your landing time at the Airport, our English/French speaking staff/Driver guide will come to pick you up from the airport. They will drive you on the Kigali City tour where you will get a chance to explore and visit different sites of the city such as the Kigali genocide Memorial, the biggest local market in Kigali called Kimironko, Nyamirambo where Kigali as a capital started, and many more interesting sites for travelers. After that, the Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in the city to have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you'll be driven to your booked hotel and check in for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 2
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
In the morning, after having your breakfast from the hotel in Kigali, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will drive you will come to pick you up from your hotel. You'll be heading to Nyungwe National Park which is located in southwest Rwanda and stop on the way to visit the royal palace museum in the southern province. This will allow you to get a history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of kingship with an en-route lunch. You'll continue your road up to Nyungwe National Park where you will spend the evening and have dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3
Chimpanzees Trekking and Canopy Walk
After an early breakfast, you will go for a chimpanzee trekking. Nyungwe is a vast, mountain rain tropical forest over 1000 sq km in size. It is home to 13 species of primates, over 275 species of birds, and 100 varieties of orchids. After trekking, your driver-guide will bring you back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, you'll enjoy a drive to the canopy walk away which is the highest bridge from the park on which tourists walk and enjoy the whole view of the park. Later, you'll be driven back to your booked lodge for dinner, and an overnight stay. Day 4
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning, after your breakfast, you will check out then the Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you to the northwest of Rwanda where the park is located. You will be enjoying the beautiful rolling hills of Volcanoes National Park. On arrival at the park, you will check in your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 5
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
You will wake up in the morning get your early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed about how to behave while you are visiting then proceed to track the gorillas. After the remarkable adventure with the gorillas, you will have lunch and later visit the twin lakes Bulera and Ruhondo. Later, the driver-guide will bring you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 6
Transfer to Akagera National Park
Early morning, you will wake up and then get your breakfast, at 8:00 am. The driver-guide will come to pick you up and drive you to Akagera National Park. On arrival at the lodge, you will check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat trip at Lake Ihema to see water birds, crocodiles, and hippos. Day 7
Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park
You will wake up, have your breakfast from your lodge, and the driver guide will come to take you for a full-day game drive. In the evening, you will come back to the lodge then you get ready night game drive where you will get a chance to spot nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, jackals, and many more night animals. After enjoying that night game drive, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. We went to akagera park with lion safari and it was so great and a lot of fun. Joel, our tour guide knew all the good spot and a lot of facts about the animal. We saw over 40 elephant!! Emile, the owner, made sure we had a good time. I recommand to book the safari with lion safaris for a great experience.

Great communication. Great Service. Reliable and as advertised. Did a 3 day Gorilla trekking and Golden monkey hike. Gorillas were the star of this trip and Lion Safaris was great at planning it. Emile is a local Rwandan and his knowledge about his country, the history, and about the subjects on the tour (i.e. about the gorillas) was amazing. Would recommend and would do it again with Lion Safaris

When I saw all the 5 star reviews for Lion safaris, I thought that it was a scam! Nothing could possibly be that good?!! Oh but it was definitely that good :) Lion safaris had the chore of organising and hosting us for 5 days through Rwanda, Emile was outstanding in his performance! He was personable yet professional and we felt safe in his hands. Highly highly recommend, both Rwanda as a destination and lion safaris - my only regret is we should have booked longer!
