Day 1
Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi as you travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley towards the Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way you will enjoy beautiful views of escarpments, valleys and rural Kenyan landscapes. Arrive in the Masai Mara in time for lunch at the lodge or camp followed by an afternoon game drive across the vast savannah plains in search of lions, elephants, cheetahs and other wildlife. Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend the entire day exploring the incredible wildlife of the Masai Mara. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to see large herds of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and predators such as lions and leopards. The reserve is one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems and offers exceptional photography opportunities. Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart the Masai Mara and travel across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch and later enjoy a game drive in the park which is famous for its rhino sanctuary and birdlife. The lake often attracts large numbers of flamingos and other water birds while the surrounding woodland shelters giraffes, buffalos and leopards. Dinner and overnight in Lake Nakuru. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the lake, offering a chance to see hippos and a variety of birdlife up close. Solomon is a highly competent and experienced driver and guide. On the very first day, he arrived at our guesthouse on time to pick us up, and his perfectly maintained 4x4 vehicle looked especially powerful and impressive. On the Maasai Mara plains, we saw several lion prides, countless wildebeest, zebras, and various other animals. Solomon was always the first to get information about animal sightings and quickly drove us there to witness them. We also saw many elephant herds in Amboseli National Park, and during a night drive in Amboseli, we encountered some animals we had never seen before — it was an amazing experience.
