Day 1
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your dedicated safari guide and escorted to your hotel. Take time to settle in, relax, and enjoy Rwanda’s renowned hospitality as you recover from your journey. Day 2
After an early breakfast, travel to Akagera National Park, the only place in Rwanda where the Big Five can be found. On arrival, head out on a guided game drive through wide open plains and acacia forests, searching for wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and possibly lions. Later in the day, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species thrive along the shores. Day 3
Spend the day exploring Akagera National Park. Start early in the morning to see lions, leopards, hyenas, and herds of antelope while they are most active. Travel north to the grasslands where rhinos can often be spotted. Take short breaks during the game drives to enjoy the peaceful views of lakes, hills, and wetlands. The park’s mix of open savannah, forests, and waterways makes every moment exciting. Day 4
After breakfast, you'll drive southwest to Nyungwe Forest. En route, you'll stop at the King’s Palace in Nyanza to explore Rwanda’s royal history, followed by a visit to Huye’s Ethnographic Museum for fascinating cultural insights. You'll enjoy lunch along the way and arrive at your Nyungwe accommodation in the late afternoon. Take time to relax in the tranquil rainforest setting, surrounded by lush greenery and fresh mountain air, as you prepare for the thrilling forest adventures ahead. Day 5
You'll rise early for an unforgettable chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe Forest. Follow your ranger through dense jungle, listening for calls that guide you to these energetic primates. You'll watch as they swing through the trees, forage, and interact. After lunch, you'll take on the canopy walk—suspended 50 meters above the forest floor. The views over the lush vegetation and glimpses of monkeys and tropical birds are spectacular. You'll return to the lodge for a relaxed evening and hearty dinner. Day 6
You'll visit a local coffee plantation near Nyungwe to learn about Rwandan coffee production and taste freshly brewed coffee. Day 7
You’ll start your day with an early breakfast before setting off on a morning hike around Napoleon Island, discovering its hidden landscapes and observing local wildlife.
