Transfer to Akagera National Park - Game drive & Safari Boat Excursion
Your adventure begins with an early departure at 6:00 AM from Kigali, where your professional driver-guide from Vazquez Tours & Travel will welcome you for a scenic journey to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, complete park registration and immediately set off on an exciting morning game drive, offering excellent chances to spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, rhinoceros, waterbucks, and other wildlife as the park comes to life. Around midday, proceed to Ruzizi Tented Lodge for check-in, followed by a relaxing lunch in a serene natural setting. In the afternoon, head out for a short game drive to further explore the park’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. Later, enjoy a tranquil boat safari on Lake Ihema, where hippos and a variety of bird species can be observed up close. Return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the wilderness. Full-Day Game Drive & Return to Kigali City
After a delightful breakfast at Ruzizi Tented Lodge, set out for an exciting full-day game drive through Akagera National Park. Explore vast savannah plains and scenic landscapes while searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and various antelope species. With a bit of luck, you may also spot elusive predators such as lions, leopards, or hyenas, completing your Big Five experience in Rwanda’s only savannah park. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness, surrounded by breathtaking views and the sounds of nature. This remarkable park stands as a conservation success, where tourism supports wildlife protection and local communities. In the afternoon, continue your game drive as you head toward the exit, taking in final wildlife sightings before returning to Kigali for drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International airport, marking the end of a memorable safari.
