Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Day 1

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel at 8 am and take you to a very special national park. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. In fact, the park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views of the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge. Karatu - Serengeti National Park

Day 2

Karatu - Serengeti National Park

Following a delightful stay at the lodge, you’ll drive to Serengeti National Park (with a lunch box in hand) for another extraordinary wildlife experience. The Serengeti is renowned as the home of the world's largest animal migration, often referred to as the "Great Migration." Over 1.7 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebras, and 200,000 antelope traverse the Ndutu region of the southern Serengeti, making their way northward through the vast plains, covering 500mi/800km to Kenya's Masai Mara. This cyclical migration commences in March, following the annual birthing of the calves in Ndutu in February, and concludes with their return in January. This aligns with the rain cycle and the growth of fresh grasses. During this time period, approximately 250,000 wildebeest succumb to thirst, hunger, exhaustion, and predation. You’ll eat lunch inside the park. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the camp. Serengeti National Park

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

After a splendid evening featuring fantastic food and a satisfying breakfast the next morning, you’ll embark on a game drive in the Serengeti. Today you have the option to enhance your experience with a balloon safari (cost included), which will allow you to traverse the expansive Serengeti in the most “off road” way imaginable. The most notable characteristic of the Serengeti is its vast treeless grassland in the south, adorned with kopjes—granite formations serving as observation posts for predators. The volcanic grasslands here thrive on soils derived from volcanic ash originating from volcanoes near the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers. The region encompasses substantial riverine forests and small mountain ranges, with the great migration passing through the corridor from May to July. It extends all the way to Lake Victoria. You’ll eat lunch inside the park. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the camp. Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

Early in the morning after breakfast, you’ll gather your lunch boxes and embark on a drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We’ll descend into the crater for a captivating game viewing experience. All members of the Big Five—rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant—reside within this splendid caldera. The crater is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena, and more. A variety of birds, such as flamingoes on the soda lake, geese, storks, and vultures (among others) also populate the region. Your lunch will be served near the Ngoitoktok swamp, which features a hippo pool. You’ll then continue with your game drive before driving back to Arusha, which will conclude your safari and your drop off will be at your hotel in Arusha. Great customer service Leoni was amzing

After contacting several tour companies we ended up choosing Amshar first and formost because of their great customer service. Leoni was very quick to respond to all of our inquires from the start. He was able to accomadate our needs and was very proffessional. Our accomadations were great the lodges were beautiful. Leoni helped organize our round trip flights from Zanzibar as well as our transfers. We booked a 3 day 2 night safari. We arrived in Arusha and were met at the airport by our guide Edward & Leoni. From there it was all easy and fun. Edward went out of his way to make sure we saw and experianced an amazing safari. He was knowledgable and explained a lot about the local culture. We were in a pop up jeep that was very comfortable. My husband really wanted to see lions and on our first day we were on our way out of the park and he heard over the radio that one had been spotted not too far away so he went back especially. On our second day we went to the crater and he took a less traveled road which was great because it gave us amazing views on our way down. We could not have been happier. He always made sure we were ok to move on and continue. I highly recomend booking through them !

Knowledgeable and experienced

We had a 11 days safari trip with Amshar. Edward responded very quickly when we approached for quotation. He adjusted the agenda and hotel per our wish, and provided us with the competitive price compared with other companies. We enjoyed the trip very much thanks to Aloyce. He helped us buying phone SIM cards and bought us to the supermarket for necessities on the first day. And he shared a lot of knowledge about different animals along the way. We saw all the big five (except Rhino from a very far distance) and the migration of wildebeest and zebras. We are so amazed by all the animals we saw on the way. We had a small hiccup on the way that one of the hotel does not have hot water provided in the shower and it took quite some time to solve the problem. Luckily at the end, they have changed another room for us and we can have hot shower. We also did a one day hike to Kilimanjaro and one day trip to Materuni waterfall which was highly recommended. African was our hiking guide on first day and he shared so many culture and plant knowledge on the way up to hut. Daniel was our second day guide to waterfall, coffee plantation area and the hot spring, he and the team were so enthusiastic, we felt so welcome and spent such a good day together. However the hot spring is very packed on Sunday when we went, but highly recommend to go on weekend as the hot spring itself is beautiful.

Thank you Stanley and Edward

A great experience to do gamings in the national parks. We are able to see the lion families for several times! Thanks Stanley helping us all the way along and gave us a wonderful memory. We got into trouble due to lost luggage etc but Edward helped us to figure out. Thank you!

Definitely great! Especially my guide rajab!

Sorry for the super late review! I accidentally lost the note Rajab gave me on the last day, and things have been crazy busy since I got back home, so this kept getting pushed back. But wow, my 5-day safari in Tanzania was absolutely incredible! First off, communication with Amshar Serengeti Adventure via email was super smooth. Leoni was really patient and professional—all my requests were taken care of perfectly. Once I arrived in Arusha and started the safari, my guide Rajab was just amazing—like, seriously the best! He’s super responsible, knows his stuff inside out, and you can really feel his genuine love for the land and the animals. Thanks to his expertise, quick thinking, and how tuned in he was to the radio updates, I managed to see the Big Five! We did miss the wildebeest crossing, but Rajab’s experience really shined through. He checked with me, and we decided to head out early to look for other animals instead of gambling the whole day waiting—and that turned out to be such a smart move! Later that day, we ran into another group who’d waited all day at the Mara River. They told us the wildebeest never crossed… So glad we left early, because we ended up spotting another pride of lions! All in all, Rajab was seriously professional, friendly, and on top of everything. Amshar Serengeti Adventure definitely knows how to deliver a top-notch experience!
