Durban to Phinda Private Game Reserve
Guests have several options of private road transfers between Durban (King Shaka International Airport) or Richards Bay Airport and Phinda Rock Lodge, with drives of between 2 and 4 hours. Alternatively, you can fly directly into the game reserve’s airstrip with Federal Air. MoAfrika can assist with booking scheduled commercial flights to these airports. Upon arrival at Phinda Rock Lodge, you can enjoy some refreshments and relax until it is time for the afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle, with sundowners and snacks along the drive. Take along the complimentary pair of Swarovski Optik binoculars for the best views of elusive animals. Back at the lodge, a scrumptious al fresco dinner on a rooftop terrace awaits. Game Drives & Bush Walk in Phinda Private Game Reserve
Rise early for a hot drink before you depart on the early morning game drives, during which you can enjoy a bush cappuccino rendezvous between searches for animals. Back at the lodge, you can savour brunch before relaxing until high tea in the afternoon. Your afternoon game drive will follow the same pattern as the first evening, rounded off by dinner on the rooftop terrace. You can also swop a morning game drive for an exhilarating bush walk with your aptly qualified and expert guide. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
