Day 3
Today is the highlight of your tour as you prepare for an unforgettable encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas. For many travelers, this experience is the highlight of this safari. You will trek into the forest in small groups of no more than 8 people, guided by experienced rangers in search of a gorilla family. Along the way, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity such as nests, dung, and chewed bamboo shoots. The trek takes you through forested slopes, tangled vines, thick bushes, and bamboo vegetation, making the journey as rewarding as the destination. Once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend up to one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the gorilla trekking experience, you will transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. If fortunate, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions resting in the fig trees along the way. Spend the evening at rest as you await the next days' activity. Day 4
After an early breakfast, your tour driver-guide will transfer you to Kyambura Gorge for a guided primate walk in search of chimpanzees. The ranger guide will provide detailed insights into the behavior of the primates as well as the diverse flora and fauna of the forest. After this exciting experience, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe Airport, with a stop in Mbarara City for lunch and a chance to shop for souvenirs at the Equator. We had a 7 day tour in Uganda and made the best decision in choosing to work with Firante treks. With Ronnie's support, our decision making process was made easy. Our driver Brian is knowledgeable, he really know what he is doing. We had so much fun with Brian, he would go an extra mile to ensure we were happy and comfortable. Uganda is beautiful, the climate, people and the parks are amazing. We had one of the best trips of our life. I highly recommend Firante treks.
