Day 1
After arrival at Bole International Airpot, fly to Jinka, a vibrant town and gateway to the Omo Valley, a culturally and historically rich area known for its diverse ethnic groups, traditional lifestyles, and proximity to national parks. Jinka is located approximately 750 kilometers southwest of Addis Ababa at an elevation of about 1,490 meters above sea level. Jinka is accessible by road from cities like Arba Minch, Addis Ababa, and Konso. It also has a small airport, Jinka Airport (BCO), which offers flights to and from Addis Ababa for travelers heading to the Omo Valley which is famous for its incredible cultural diversity, with over a dozen distinct ethnic groups, including the Mursi, Hamar, Karo, Dassanech, and Ari peoples. Jinka is home to the South Omo Research Center and Museum, which offers valuable insights into the region's rich cultural heritage. The Ari people are one of the many ethnic groups residing in southern Ethiopia, primarily in the fertile highlands near Jinka in the South Omo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region. Known for their agricultural skills and craftsmanship, the Ari people have a distinct cultural identity and play a significant role in the region’s economy and social structure. The Ari people are a key part of the tourist experience in the Omo Valley due to their traditional pottery and craftsmanship. The Banna people (sometimes spelled Bana) are an ethnic group residing in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia, primarily in the Omo Valley. They share cultural similarities with neighboring groups like the Hamar, Karo, and Tsemay while maintaining their own identities. The Banna are known for their pastoral lifestyle, as well as for their colorful attire and ceremonies. The Banna share the bull-jumping ritual with the Hamar people. Day 5
