You'll begin your adventure with a 7:40 am transfer from O.R. Tambo International Airport. A 600km scenic drive north unfolds, pausing for lunch (own expense). At 2:30 pm, you'll reach Phalaborwa, meeting your Wild Planet Safari guide and chef. You'll drive 2 more hours to Punda Maria Gate, entering Kruger National Park's far north. Punda Maria rest camp becomes your base for the first 2 nights, featuring luxury safari tents with bushveld views, twin beds, a kitchen, electricity, and a private bathroom. Today kicks off early, ensuring optimal wildlife sightings in the morning light. After a quick coffee, the journey heads north through open landscapes and Mopani thickets, often revealing herds of buffalo and elephants. Breakfast awaits at the Pafuri picnic site. Next, you will visit Crooks Corner, where the Luvuvhu and Limpopo rivers converge, marking the meeting points of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. You'll marvel at this breathtaking confluence surrounded by lush forests. You'll return to camp and explore pausing at waterholes for wildlife observation. Day 3

Kruger National Park - Shingwedzi

Today kicks off with an early drive around Dimbo Hill in the Punda Maria area, a prime spot for leopard sightings. After breakfast, you'll bid farewell to Punda Maria, heading south to Shingwedzi. On the 70 km safari drive, you'll encounter herds of buffalos, elephants, bucks, and possibly elusive leopards. This region is known for rare antelope species like elands and roans. Shingwedzi camp, nestled along the river, offers stunning views. You'll spend time on a bench by the river, observing wildlife. The camp provides amenities like a swimming pool, laundry services, and a quaint shop. On arrival, you'll enjoy lunch at the camp restaurant (own expense). You'll relax by the pool or take a siesta. Nestled along the Letaba River, Letaba houses the renowned Elephant Hall—a museum dedicated to the magnificent 7, the 7 largest tuskers in Kruger’s history. Departing from Letaba, our leisurely safari drive towards the exit gate offers a reflective journey through the captivating landscapes. At approximately 10 am, you'll meet the transfer team in Phalaborwa and ensure your smooth return to Johannesburg. The scenic route over the Drakensberg escarpment unfolds. Arrival at O.R. Tambo Airport is anticipated between 5 and 6 pm. Please be mindful not to schedule departing flights from Johannesburg before 7:00 pm for domestic flights and 8:00 pm for international flights. Perfect safari experience

At the beginning of November, we went on a three-day private safari with overnight stays at Skukuza Camp in Kruger National Park. The entire organisation and handling with Thale in advance was perfect, and we also received tips on how best to continue our journey in South Africa after the safari. We received an absolutely all-inclusive package. A transfer service in Johannesburg took us from the airport to Hazyview. There we met our guide Eric and the cook Keygi. We liked them both right from the start and they made us feel that we didn't have to worry or take care of anything. And that's exactly how the next few days went. We were treated to incredibly delicious food and saw fantastic wildlife in the park. Eric has been doing this for almost 20 years and was able to answer all our questions. We saw the Big Five within 1.5 days and much more. Wild Planet Safari offers an unforgettable experience with its all-inclusive service (transfer, accommodation, game drives and shared meals). We were able to concentrate fully on the animals and nature as we didn't have to worry about anything else. We can only recommend everyone to book a private safari here. If we ever get the chance to visit this beautiful place again, we will definitely book with Wild Planet Safari again. Many thanks to the entire Team.

We booked a 4-day safari with Wild Planet, and Eric made it the most wonderful experience. He was a great safari guide, the best cook and we appreciated the time with him very much. We had a wonderful time touring Kruger National Park with Wild Planet Safari. We did an extended north to south tour and our guides, Eric and Ryan were great.
