Day 1
Arrival and Samburu National Reserve
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya (approximately 5-6 hours by road or 1 hour by flight). Upon arrival, check into your lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Samburu, where you can start capturing the unique wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. The rugged, dry landscapes and the Ewaso Ng'iro River offer dramatic backdrops for photography. In the evening, stay at the lodge, offering a great vantage point for wildlife viewing at sunrise or sunset. This day sets the tone for your photographic safari with plenty of opportunities for capturing stunning wildlife and landscape shots. Day 2
Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Start your day with an early morning game drive to capture the best of the wildlife in the soft, golden light of the morning. This is a great time for wildlife photography as the animals are more active, and the light is ideal for stunning shots. Look for lions, elephants, and the elusive leopard, as well as the Samburu Special. After the morning game drive, return to your lodge or camp for a hearty breakfast. Head out for a second game drive in the afternoon. Samburu’s riverbanks are perfect for capturing wildlife interactions, particularly herds of elephants drinking from the river, giraffes grazing in the distance, and zebras standing out against the arid landscape. If you're interested, you can visit a Samburu village to learn about the local culture and capture vibrant portraits of the Samburu people in their traditional attire. Enjoy a second night in your lodge or tented camp, taking in the sounds of the African bush as you relax. Day 3
Samburu to Lake Bogoria
Begin the day with a final early morning game drive in Samburu, making the most of the last chance to photograph wildlife in this unique reserve. Look for any species you may have missed and enjoy the morning light over the river and surrounding terrain. After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast. Afterward, depart for Lake Bogoria (approximately 3 hours by road). Upon arrival at Lake Bogoria, check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch while soaking in the stunning views of the alkaline lake. In the afternoon, head out to explore the lake and its surroundings, renowned for its large flocks of flamingos and the spectacular hot springs and geysers. Capture the vibrant pink flamingos wading in the shallow waters and the dramatic landscapes created by the geothermal activity. Day 4
Lake Bogoria to Masai Mara
Begin your day with a relaxed morning photography session around Lake Bogoria, capturing the flamingos as they feed and fly, and the geothermal springs against the morning light. This is a great opportunity for serene landscape shots with minimal crowds. After your morning shoot, enjoy breakfast at your lodge and then prepare for your journey to Masai Mara. This will be a longer drive (approximately 4-5 hours). Upon arrival at Masai Mara National Reserve, check into your lodge which may be located inside the reserve or on its edge with views over the savannah. After settling in, head out for your first game drive in the Masai Mara. This is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundance of wildlife. Full Day in Masai Mara

The Mara’s plains come alive at dawn, with predators like lions and leopards often active, and herbivores like giraffes and zebras grazing in the cool morning. This is the best time for dramatic wildlife photography, especially with the stunning light. After the morning drive, return to your lodge for breakfast and a chance to relax. For a unique perspective of the Masai Mara, you can opt for an early morning hot air balloon ride. Take a break during the midday heat and relax at your lodge or camp. You can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and review your photos from the morning game drive. Head out for a second game drive in the afternoon. The Mara is famous for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, so you’ll have plenty of chances to capture images of elephants, lions, wildebeests, and perhaps even a cheetah or leopard in action. Departure from masai mara to Nairobi
On your final day, enjoy an early morning game drive for one last chance to capture the wildlife of the Masai Mara. This is a great time to photograph predators during the cooler hours or to capture Mara’s wide-open landscapes bathed in the soft early morning light. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then prepare for your departure back to Nairobi. You will move by road that will take a bout 4-5 hours Once you arrive in Nairobi, you can either proceed to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight or enjoy a few extra hours in the city if you have time.
