Day 1
Depart Nairobi early morning and drive north through the scenic highlands of Embu and Meru town, arriving at the park by early afternoon. Check into the luxurious Elsa's Kopje, the only lodge inside Meru National Park, dramatically perched on Mug's Hill with sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. As the afternoon heat begins to ease, set out on your first game drive along the Murera River, where elephants, waterbuck, giraffes and buffalo make their daily appearance. As darkness falls, gather around the camp for a memorable bush dinner under a vast canopy of stars, accompanied by a detailed orientation briefing from your experienced guide on what to expect across the days ahead. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Luxury lodge located inside Meru NP Lunch & dinner (Breakfast not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
Rise before dawn and head out at 6 am into Meru's northern plains, a prime territory for lions, cheetahs and leopards, with virtually no other tourist vehicles in sight. This is the Africa that safari dreams are made of: raw, silent and entirely your own. Mid-morning, a ranger-guided walk (optional USD100 per person) leads you deep into the rhino sanctuary for a rare and privileged close encounter with both black and white rhinos, one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences Kenya has to offer. Enjoy a sundowner beside the Tana River, where hippos yawn lazily and crocodiles bask on the banks in full view. As the afternoon light softens to gold, explore the lush riverine forests on a dedicated birding drive, targeting the African finfoot, palm-nut vulture and vibrant kingfishers among Meru's nearly 400 recorded bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Luxury lodge located inside Meru NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
Wake up to have your breakfast and checkout, squeezing every last moment from this extraordinary park as the golden light catches the treetops. Then depart north through the frontier town of Isiolo, watching the landscape transform dramatically before your eyes from Meru's lush tropical greenery to the wide, sun-scorched acacia scrubland of Kenya's rugged north. Arrive in Samburu by midday and check into your lodge, beautifully situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River with wildlife visible right from the terrace. The afternoon game drive delivers your first electrifying encounter with the Samburu Special Five the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, long-necked gerenuk, Somali ostrich and beisa oryx, all unique to this arid northern ecosystem and found almost nowhere else on earth. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Luxury tented camp bordering Samburu NR without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
Wake before sunrise and head to the Ewaso Nyiro River as the bush stirs to life elephants, hippos and Nile crocodiles converge at the water's edge in the cool, still hours of early morning, creating scenes of breathtaking natural drama. Spend the morning on an extended game drive in pursuit of the full Samburu Special Five, with special focus on the gerenuk, a remarkable gazelle that stands tall on its hind legs to browse acacia leaves, and the strikingly patterned reticulated giraffe. As evening approaches, rocky outcrops and dry riverbeds offer some of Kenya's finest opportunities to spot the elusive leopard. Close this unforgettable day with an immersive cultural visit to a traditional Samburu manyatta, where you will meet proud local warriors, learn the art of intricate beadwork and hear compelling stories of their ancient nomadic heritage passed down through generations. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Luxury tented camp bordering Samburu NR without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River before departing Samburu and heading south through the spectacular scenery surrounding Mount Kenya, Africa's second highest peak, its snow-capped summit gleaming on clear mornings. Make a memorable stop at the equator along the A2 highway to witness the famous water-draining demonstration that never fails to amaze. Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy and check into Ol Pejeta Safari Cottages, rated among the very finest accommodation in Kenya with exceptional food, guiding and hospitality. The afternoon is devoted to one of the most powerful conservation encounters in Africa a visit to the sanctuary of Najin and Fatu, the world's last two northern white rhinos, and an emotional meeting with Baraka, Ol Pejeta's beloved blind black rhino who can be touched by guests. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Luxury tented camp located inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Laikipia Plateau) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
Rise early one final time for a dawn game drive across Ol Pejeta's open grasslands, where lions, cheetahs, elephants and large buffalo herds roam in remarkable concentrations within this well-managed and compact conservancy. Before checkout, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary the only place in all of Kenya where rescued chimpanzees from across Africa can be seen up close, a surprising, joyful and deeply moving finale to your safari adventure. Transfer back to Nairobi by road in approximately three and a half hours carrying with you the memories of three extraordinary ecosystems and one truly unforgettable northern Kenya journey. 5.0/5We spent 4 wonderful days on safari. Everything was perfectly prepared, in accordance with our arrangements. Josephine is very communicative and professional in what she does. Solid and unobtrusive. We had a great guide with whom we felt safe and could see everything we dreamed of. We will definitely come back.

We didn't know what we wanted so we requested Lilac Roller Safaris to recommend an itinerary. Josephine was fantastic, her communication was quick and she ensured that our accomodation was to the standards we wanted. We went to Tanzania and did the Ngorogoro Crater and also the Serengeti which was absolutely amazing. Our game drivers were very well experienced and they were quick to drive us around the vast national park to see amazing wildlife! Highly recommended could not find a fault.

Benjamin Mauko · Kenya
One of the best experiences in my life. Josephine helped me through the entire planning process and made it very clear on what I could expect once we arrived. Edward was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable. I can't say enough of the great things about them and our safari. I look forward to booking with this company (Lilac Roller Safaris)again in the future
