Addis Ababa
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s vibrant capital city. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a guided city tour including the National Archaeological Museum, home to the famous fossil “Lucy”, believed to be one of the earliest human ancestors. Continue to the Ethnographic Museum and St. George’s Cathedral, while learning about Ethiopia’s rich history, culture, and religious heritage. Addis Ababa is known as Africa’s diplomatic capital and offers a fascinating introduction to the country. Fly Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bahir Dar, located on the shores of Lake Tana — the source of the Blue Nile. Explore the historic monasteries found on the islands of Lake Tana, including Ura Kidane Mehret, known for its ancient religious manuscripts and artwork. Later, visit the famous Blue Nile Falls, locally known as “Tis Isat”, meaning “smoking water”. If time allows, enjoy a short city tour and viewpoints overlooking the lake and surrounding landscapes. Bahir Dar to Gondar
After breakfast, depart by road to Gondar, the former royal capital of Ethiopia. Explore the famous Fassilides Castle and the historic royal enclosure built in the 17th century. Visit the Fassilides Bath, an important religious site used during Timket celebrations, before continuing to the UNESCO-listed Debre Birhan Selassie Church, renowned for its beautiful angel-covered ceiling paintings. Simien Mountains National Park Excursion

Travel through dramatic mountain scenery with stops at panoramic viewpoints including Kosoye and Buyit Ras. Keep an eye out for endemic wildlife such as Gelada baboons, Walia ibex, and Ethiopian wolves. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by spectacular landscapes before returning to Gondar in the afternoon. Walk through ancient tunnels and passageways while learning about Lalibela’s spiritual significance. We were a party of 7 from SA and Germany. We had the absolute time of our lives! The communication was great, we wanted to (try) and see as much of Namibia as we could in 9 days. We went to various different places, saw all the must-sees and finished strong in Erongo, which was so luxurious. The value for money was incredible and in general the trip was hassle free, as everything was planned in advance for us. We will definitely book here again.
