Day 1

Arrival in Rwanda

You will be welcomed by our tour guide. You'll check in at the hotel. Optional afternoon activities (depending on the time of arrival) include exploring the city, local market, art gallery, and local restaurants. Day 2

Kigali City Tour

You will visit Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, Kandt House, and Camp Kigali Memorial and wind up the day by visiting more genocide memorial sites in Bugesera. On this day, you will also have time to explore the local restaurants and get to know more about the capital city. Your overnight stay will be in Kigali. Day 3

Transfer to the Southern Rwanda

On day 3 of your trip, you will be able to visit the Kings’ Palace and Ethnographic Museums with a stopover at the Kamegeri Rock in the Southern Province of Rwanda. In the afternoon, you will go for a visit to Huye Mountain Coffee. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in Huye. Day 4

Lake Kivu

On day 4, after breakfast, you will depart from your hotel at 6:30 am. You will drive through Nyungwe National Park heading to Karongi with stopovers for tea plantations and tea leaves collections and views. You will stop in Nyungwe for an authentic village tour involving passing through the village, harvesting produce, and cooking local produce. Afterwards, you will drive to Karongi. Day 5

Karongi Experience

You will visit the Environmental Museum in Karongi and learn more about different plant varieties used for traditional medicine. Afterward, you will experience a boat ride in Lake Kivu, and visit Amahoro and Napoleon Islands. You'll have lunch at Bethany Hotel and proceed for an afternoon transfer to Rubavu and overnight stay there. Pottery Experience

In Rubavu, you will visit the Potters community and do a cultural activity involving handicraft experience with traditional women's activities and dances. You will go to Rubavu town sightseeing. Gorilla Guardians Village

You'll interact with Gorilla Guardians community members on their history and culture. This offers an adventurous stay in a traditional rural, Rwandan village that has existed for centuries living with and next to mountain gorillas in the park. The village gives you a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of our culture and traditions. Activities include a village walk, visiting the king’s house replica, traditional dances, and visiting local traditional healers among others. Afterward, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey, have your local lunch, and depart back to Kigali Airport for drop off or your hotel. ’ve never thought that I could be so fascinated by nature in Rwanda. I had such a splendid experience during 1day Safari in Akagera National Park thanks to the New Horizon Africa Safaris. It was an amazing day full of surprises. Everything was well planned and organised. Our guide ( who was a taxi driver as well) explained to us all facts about wildlife in Rwanda. I would like to thank him for such a wonderful experience throughout. I really enjoyed the trip :-) Nowadays, the travel industry has a very competitive environment and everyone offers almost the same price. So price is no longer a trigger that attracts customers. This August, we had the chance to enjoy a truly unforgettable one-night safari with New Horizon Africa Safaris in the southern part of Rwanda. Our trip included an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe National Park, the breathtaking Canopy Walk, and the newly opened zip line – all of which exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was the professionalism and flexibility of the company. Due to a delay in our connecting flight, we had to reschedule the safari with less than 12 hours' notice. Despite the last-minute change, New Horizon Africa Safaris handled everything with amazing efficiency and kindness.
