Begin your day with a 4:15 AM hotel pickup in Kigali by a knowledgeable driver-guide, and embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. Upon arrival, enjoy a detailed park briefing before heading to the trailhead, a 30-minute drive on rugged terrain, where your adventure to Dian Fossey’s resting place begins. Trek 3-4 hours through the enchanting Hagen-Hypericum forest to Karisoke Research Camp, spotting forest hogs and exotic birds along the way. At the camp, visit the cabin where Fossey dedicated her life to gorilla conservation and pay respects at her grave beside Digit, her beloved gorilla, immersing yourself in her enduring legacy and the ongoing fight against poaching. Conclude your journey with a relaxing lunch at Tiloreza before returning to Kigali, with the trip timed to suit your departure plans.
