05:00 AM – Hotel pick-up in Zanzibar and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for flight to mainland Tanzania. All arrangements are pre-organized for a smooth start. 07:00 AM – Flight to Mikumi NP (approx. 1 hour), enjoying scenic aerial views. 08:30–09:00 AM – Arrival, meet your professional safari guide, short briefing, then start game drive in a 4x4 open-roof vehicle. 09:00 AM–12:00 PM – Morning game drive across Mikumi savannahs searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, antelopes, baboons, and possibly lions. Best wildlife viewing areas prioritized. 12:00 PM – Picnic lunch inside the park at a safe designated area. 01:00–03:00 PM – Afternoon game drive through Mkata Floodplain, baobab areas, hippo pools, and bird zones, with increased wildlife activity near water sources. 03:30–04:00 PM – Return to airstrip for flight back to Zanzibar (timing may vary depending on game viewing). 05:00 PM – Arrival in Zanzibar and transfer to hotel. I had to bring my safari tour earlier and Benjamini from African Platinum Safari was very helpful and understanding. I managed to go to the safari earlier so I could head back home sooner for a family emergency.
