Day 1
You will be warmly welcomed at the airport or hotel by your private guide. After a short briefing, step into your private Land Cruiser and head west to Lake Nakuru National Park (a four-hour journey). You will arrive at Lake Nakuru in the early afternoon and head straight into the park for an afternoon game drive. Known for its flamingos, endangered white rhinos, and lions, Nakuru offers a unique safari environment. Watch the sun begin to set over the lake as you check into your lodge or camp for the night. Day 2
Wake up early for a morning game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, a beautiful reserve known for its diverse wildlife and shimmering alkaline lake. Keep your eyes peeled for white and black rhinos grazing on the open plains, Rothschild’s giraffes silhouetted against the acacia trees, and birdlife ranging from pelicans to flamingos that paint the lake’s edge pink when water levels are right. Afterward, drive through the Great Rift Valley on the way to the Masai Mara (a 4–5-hour journey). You'll arrive in the Masai Mara by early evening, where you can settle into your lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening or choose to visit a traditional Maasai village (Manyatta). Mid-range tented camp located just outside Masai Mara NR (Kenya) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
After an early breakfast, you will set off on a full-day game drive inside the Masai Mara National Reserve. This park is one of Africa’s best safari destinations, known for its high density of wildlife and rolling savannah landscapes. Expect to encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and leopards. You will also have a chance to see cheetahs hunting on the open plains and hippos wallowing in the Mara River. Depending on the season, you may even witness the Great Migration. Lunch will be served picnic-style in the bush before you continue your wildlife adventure into the afternoon. Mid-range tented camp located just outside Masai Mara NR (Kenya) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
Your second day in the Masai Mara gives you another chance to explore new areas of the reserve and deepen your wildlife sightings. Head out at dawn for optimal viewing and follow fresh tracks with your guide, possibly catching predator-prey interactions in the golden morning light. After your morning game drive, cross the border into the Serengeti (a 3-4-hour journey), where a local Tanzanian guide will be waiting to welcome you and continue your journey. From there, embark on a game drive through the plains of the Serengeti, enjoying wildlife sightings as you travel to your lodge inside the park. Day 5
Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in its rhythm and scale. With no rush, your guide will tailor the game drives to wildlife movements, taking you to prime areas known for predator activity and large concentrations of plains game. Each drive offers something different, from dramatic hunting scenes to quiet moments observing animals in their natural behavior. Between game drives, you will have time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and reflect on the incredible diversity of life around you. The Serengeti’s open landscapes provide exceptional photographic opportunities, with golden light, wide skies, and iconic wildlife creating unforgettable moments throughout the day. Day 6
An early morning game drive offers one last opportunity to experience the Serengeti at its most active. As the sun rises, predators return from their night hunts, and herbivores begin grazing across the plains. This is often one of the most rewarding times to spot lions, cheetahs, and hyenas in action. Later in the morning, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, leading to one of the safari’s true highlights: descending into the Ngorongoro Crater. This natural amphitheater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, hippos, and the critically endangered black rhino. The crater floor offers year-round water and grazing, making wildlife sightings consistently exceptional. Mid-range lodge located 1-2hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 7
In the morning you will fly to Rwanda, where your private guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport. You will travel comfortably in a well-equipped safari vehicle. Begin the day with a guided Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial, vibrant local craft markets, and key cultural landmarks that offer insight into Rwanda. After the city tour, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside. Mid-range guest house just outside Volcanoes NP (Gorillas, Rwanda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
Today’s adventure offers a choice between two unforgettable experiences. The first experience has you tracking the vibrant and energetic golden monkeys, known for their striking orange-gold coats and playful nature. Found only in a few places in the world, these rare primates leap through the lush greenery of the Virunga Mountains in large, lively troops, creating an incredible sight for photographers and wildlife lovers alike. Alternatively, you may opt for a hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb, a moving journey through the forest to the resting place of the legendary primatologist. Along the way, you will learn about her tireless work to protect mountain gorillas and the legacy she left in these misty mountains. Afterwards, begin your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (a 2-3-hour journey). Mid-range lodge just outside Rushaga (Bwindi Impenetrable NP, Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
Today you will trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After a short briefing, set off with your guide into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them up close — playing, moving through the trees, and interacting with each other in their natural environment. After the trek, continue your journey to Lake Bunyonyi (a 1-2-hour journey), one of the deepest lakes in Africa, known for its scenic beauty and dotted with terraced hills and small islands. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful lakeside atmosphere. Mid-range hotel located at Lake Bunyonyi (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 10
Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Switzerland of Africa,” is framed by misty hills and scattered with 29 story-filled islands. You will set out in the morning on a tranquil boat excursion to explore some of these islands, admire the breathtaking scenery, and experience the rhythms of local life along the lakeshore. After your boat adventure, begin the scenic journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park (a 3-4-hour journey). Upon arrival, check into your lodge, perfectly situated on the park’s edge, where elephants and other wildlife are often seen grazing nearby. Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner as you soak in the sounds of the wilderness and prepare for tomorrow’s thrilling game drive. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 11
Start your morning with a scenic drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s premier wildlife destinations. The park is home to an incredible variety of animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and elusive leopards often seen lounging in the shade. In the afternoon, set off on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the world’s largest hippo populations. Glide past massive pods of hippos, crocodiles basking on the banks, and large herds of elephants and buffaloes coming to drink. Few places in Africa offer such consistent and close-up encounters with wildlife. Continue with another game drive during the sunset hour for additional wildlife sightings. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 12
In the morning you will head out for a chimpanzee trekking experience in Kalinzu Forest. With the guidance of expert trackers, follow signs through the forest until you find one of the habituated chimpanzee families. Once located, spend one hour observing their interactions—grooming, feeding, or moving through the canopy. This is an up-close and authentic encounter with one of our closest animal relatives. Afterward, begin your journey toward Lake Mburo. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife that occasionally wanders beyond the park boundaries, as well as flocks of Uganda’s famous Ankole cows with their impressive horns. Arrive at your lodge in time to relax and prepare for tomorrow's exploration. Budget lodge located just outside Lake Mburo NP (Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 13
Begin the day with a guided walking safari led by an armed ranger — a unique way to get closer to the animals in Lake Mburo National Park. The park is one of the best places in Uganda to see large herds of zebras and the striking Rothschild’s giraffe. You may also encounter topis, elands, and other antelope species, along with a wide variety of birdlife. After the walk, begin the drive back to Entebbe (a roughly five-hour journey). Along the way, stop at the Equator for photos and a chance to pick up some local crafts. You will arrive in Entebbe by the early evening to check into your lodge and rest. Budget hostel in Entebbe (City, Uganda) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 14
Begin your final day in Uganda with a morning boat trip on Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. Head out as the sun rises, passing early-morning fishermen before reaching the Mabamba Swamps, one of the best places in the world to see the elusive shoebill. From here, accompanied by a birding guide, switch to a traditional canoe and glide deeper into the swamp channels. Spotting a shoebill in the wild is a special moment — this rare bird, with its massive beak and prehistoric appearance, is often described as “something out of the dinosaur age.” After the excursion, return to Entebbe for your airport drop-off. As a fairly experienced safari traveller (Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa), this was my first visit to Uganda. I booked my vacation directly at Wild Uganda. I was charmed by its reviews and the very good value for money in comparison with other operators. There were quite some extra wishes to the standard 10 days offer such as an extra day and different lodges. Communication was very easy and fast via WhatsApp; I also had a very nice video conversation with Ernest. He was very friendly, helpful, flexible and fulfilled all our extra wishes. Then the journey itself: as said we made several Safaris before in other countries and I must say this one was the most diverse. We did a lot of game drives in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo and saw a lot of wild life: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and so on. On top of that we had walking safaris at Ziwa (rhino 's), Kibale (chimps), Bwindi (gorillas) and Lake Mburo (giraffe, zebra etc). We also had boat trips at Lake Victoria (shoebills), Murchison Falls, Kazinga Channel and Lake Bunyonyi. Along the way we visited local communities such as a coffee farm, vanilla plantation, banana beer brewery and primary school. The Ugandese people are very warm and hospitable and real ambassadors for their country. Although it is hard to make a ranking in all of our activities, I must highlight the gorilla track since before booking we were in doubt whether we wanted to spend relatively much money on this tour. I must say it was stunning and worth every penny! Accommodations were very nice, especially for its locations, welcoming staff and good meals. See reviews on Google maps to get an impression of what to expect. I read some rare negative stories of the lodges we visited, but the only thing I can say is that these are mainly based on unreasonable standards or expectations and ours are solely positive. Most of all I'd like to mention our guide Allanie, who did a wonderful job at accommodating and establishing this breath taking experience! We had an informal daily briefing and everything was fitted to our wishes. He provided very useful information and extra stops at places of our interest. If you have the opportunity, I would certainly recommend to book for 10+ days. This will give you the chance to relax every now and then and process all the experiences. Im short, whenever I return to Uganda I will definitely book at this organisation again and can recommend anyone to do so as well.

Our 10 Days Best of Uganda Tour truly showed us why Uganda is called the “Pearl of Africa.” The diversity of experiences within a relatively short time made the trip feel very complete. The wildlife we experienced throughout the trip was incredibly abundant. A major highlight, and one of the main reasons for our journey, was the chimpanzee and gorilla tracking, which was truly unforgettable. In addition, we saw leopard cubs, a baby rhino, lions (including a tree-climbing lion during a hunt), and much more – these are only a few examples of what we encountered on a daily basis. One fun highlight was that we managed to see the Big Five in under 24 hours. The boat cruises on the Nile and along the Kazinga Channel were also particularly impressive. Beyond the animals, the cultural side of the trip was just as memorable. We visited a local cinema, did a gin tasting, learned about local coffee and vanilla farming, and even had the chance to play football with a group of kids in a village. These experiences made the trip feel very authentic and personal. Allaine was an excellent guide – very knowledgeable, attentive, and also great fun to be around. His sense of humor and the balance he found between engaging with us and giving us time on our own made a real difference throughout the trip. The accommodations were well chosen, with welcoming staff and good food – perfect for relaxing after active days. Communication with the tour operator was smooth and reliable from the very beginning. The planning process was straightforward, and all questions were answered quickly and clearly. Overall, a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend. We would definitely travel again with Wild Uganda and especially with Allaine as a guide.

Our 5-day safari with Wild Uganda was simply unforgettable! From the planning stage to departure, everything was perfectly organized. The team was always available and took all our wishes into account. The accommodations were excellent, perfectly tailored to our needs, and offered breathtaking views. The safari itself was an absolute highlight: from Queen Elizabeth National Park to chimpanzee trekking and our personal highlight – gorilla trekking – every moment was unique. The walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park was also a very special experience. It was incredible how close we sometimes got to the animals – a feeling we will never forget. We truly went through every emotion: tears of joy, goosebumps, and moments of complete speechlessness. A very special thank you to our guide Allaine! He was simply amazing – always helpful, friendly, and attentive. We shared many laughs with him and felt safe and perfectly taken care of at all times. He always brought us to the best photo spots, allowing us to capture unforgettable memories. With his extensive knowledge of wildlife and plants, as well as his experience, he taught us so much and shared his passion with us. If we ever go on a safari in Uganda again, it will only be with Allaine and Wild Uganda! Thank you for everything – this is a trip we will never forget! We highly recommend Wild Uganda and would book with them again anytime!
