Day 1
We will pick you up from your designated departure hotel and bring you to our office for a short briefing before starting your scenic journey to the Masai Mara. The first stop will be at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the escarpments and a brief photo opportunity. We aim to arrive at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. However, in case of traffic or road incidents, lunch may be taken en route in Narok town. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll check in, unwind in your room, and later enjoy dinner. Masai Mara Sopa Lodge is located within the greater Masai Mara ecosystem, and its position relative to the National Reserve may vary slightly depending on the route your guide uses. In the evening, you may be treated to Maasai cultural dances or a bonfire, subject to availability. You can enjoy a refreshing dip in the heated pool surrounded by nature. The lodge is ideal for honeymooners, families with kids, and solo travelers seeking a peaceful stay. Day 2
You'll start your day with an early buffet breakfast before embarking on a full-day game drive beginning at 7:00 AM and extending into the late afternoon, 4/5 pm. You’ll leave the lodge with a packed lunch for an uninterrupted safari experience. The Masai Mara is world-renowned for its rich wildlife diversity and well-connected game viewing tracks, offering excellent opportunities for photography and up-close sightings. You'll enjoy breathtaking moments with lions—known locally as the “man-eaters of the Mara.” Bird lovers will delight in spotting over 450 bird species. You'll pause for a scenic picnic lunch at the hippo pool, where you can dine while observing hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Later, there’s an optional visit to a traditional Maasai village for just $20 per person. Your evening concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge. Fun fact: The Masai Mara is home to the Great Migration—one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. You’ll leave with a packed lunch, and the lodges are well-prepared to cater to guests with special dietary needs. Today also offers the once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience a hot air balloon safari (optional), a bucket-list activity for many safari lovers. You'll soar above the savannah as the sun rises and witness the wildlife from a bird’s-eye view—an unforgettable perspective that truly captures the magic of the Mara. After your drive, you'll return to the lodge for a full breakfast before checking out. You’ll then head to the Namanga border, where our Tanzanian team will be waiting for you with a private saloon car, which will transfer you to Arusha.
