Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park– The Gateway to Wilderness
Early morning from Mombasa, you'll head North. As you approach Tsavo East, the landscape transforms into golden plains dotted with acacia trees and distant hills. You'll arrive at the park’s entrance and begin your first game drive, where your eyes will be drawn to herds of elephants moving across the plains and giraffes towering above the canopy. You'll stop at the famous Aruba Dam, a favorite watering hole for elephants and buffalo, offering photographic opportunities. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the waterhole, listening to the sounds of the wild. Post-lunch, you'll venture deeper into the park to spot elusive predators like the lion pride resting in the shade or the sneaky leopard maneuvering through the trees. These sights make for perfect photo moments. As evening approaches, you'll check into your lodge, where you will unwind with a refreshing drink, soaking in the tranquil wilderness under the stars- an experience that will surely leave you eager for Day 2. Wildlife Encounters and Return to Mombasa
You'll rise early to greet the dawn with a final game drive through Tsavo East. The early morning light enhances the landscape’s dramatic beauty, and the air is filled with the sounds of birds and the distant roars of lions. You'll watch a herd of buffalo crossing the plains or an antelope sprinting through the tall grass. As the sun rises higher, animal encounters continue-perhaps spotting a cheetah or a solitary rhinoceros. After breakfast, you'll pack up and embark on a scenic drive back toward Mombasa, with occasional stopovers at scenic viewpoints and local craft markets. Expect to arrive in Mombasa in the late afternoon, carrying rich memories of your brief but unforgettable safari experience in Kenya’s iconic Tsavo East National Park. Despite the short notice, he acted swiftly, kept us updated throughout, and managed to secure a beautiful lodge for us. To make the experience even better, Alfred sent us an exceptional guide, Samson, whose knowledge and experience truly elevated the trip. Samson was jovial, witty, and full of fun; he seemed to know exactly where the elephants were hiding in Tsavo East, which made every game drive exciting. His energy and humor added so much joy to our Christmas adventure. We are deeply grateful to Alfred and Samson for turning our last-minute plan into such a memorable safari. My best Safari Experience in Africa so far
I have been to a couple of African countries but I must say Iyana Africa exceeded my expectations. Everything from communication upon placing the request, the itinerary organization and whole safari experience was just amazing. Nicholas was my first contact and was very professional I even wished he could be my tour guide. Upon landing at the airport, Nicholas and Alfred were there to receive me with some gifts, this really humbled me! I was lucky to be given the latest jeep for my safari, SHEM the driver and tour guide was very proficient and had an answer to all my questions. He was very knowledgeable and knew where exactly to go to spot the animals. I was lucky to see all the big five as Nicholas had promised.
