Day 1
You'll arrive in Windhoek, Namibia’s charming capital, nestled between rolling hills and dry savannah. After settling in at the guesthouse and a briefing with your Sunway Safaris guides, you'll explore the city’s German colonial architecture and visit a local market. In the evening, you'll enjoy an own-expense dinner at a local restaurant, sampling Namibian cuisine and soaking up the friendly atmosphere. Limited participation: an essential part of your safari is some participation. From carrying your own bag to cleaning your window and packing the truck in the morning —it’s all part of your adventure, and when everyone puts in a little effort, the trip will run smoothly. Where the tour leaders provide meals, we ask that clients help (on rotation) with the washing up. Mid-range guest house in Windhoek (City, Namibia) Meals at own expense Drinks not included
Day 2
You'll journey south from Windhoek, passing through scenic mountain landscapes before descending onto the desert plains. En route, you'll stop at the remote outpost of Solitaire— famous for its apple tart (own expense), before continuing to our lodge in the Namib Desert. The afternoon is free to relax and take in the vast, arid surroundings. The next morning, you'll explore the Namib Naukluft National Park. Towering red dunes surround the white clay pans of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, where twisted Camel Thorn trees create surreal silhouettes. These ancient landscapes, shaped by rare floods of the Tsauchab River, offer some of the most iconic desert scenery in Africa. Mid-range self catering accommodationnear Sesriem (Town, Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
Swakopmund lies on the Atlantic coast, where cool sea breezes offer respite from the desert heat. En route, you’ll stop at Walvis Bay’s lagoon to observe flocks of flamingos, thousands of these elegant pink birds wading in the shallow waters. The town of Swakopmund sits at the mouth of the mostly dry Swakop River, which marks the northern boundary of the ever-shifting Namib Desert dunes. You have time in the afternoon for a walk along the beachfront before having a restaurant dinner (own expense). Mid-range hotel in Swakopmund (City, Namibia) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
Namibia is a country of striking extremes, and Damaraland embodies this with its stark plains, dry riverbeds, and ancient valleys carved between rocky outcrops. Towering above it all are the Brandberg Massif Mountains, their peaks a dramatic backdrop to this rugged wilderness. You'll embark on a walk with a local guide exploring the ancient Brandberg Massif to view the Brandberg White Lady rock painting. In the evening, you'll settle in for a sundowner at your lodge in the Ugab River valley and watch as the sun sinks behind the mountains. Mid-range lodge bordering Damaraland (Namibia) without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
Etosha National Park, one of Africa's premier wildlife sanctuaries, has been safeguarding Namibia's iconic species since it was established as a reserve in 1907. The park's best wildlife sightings are typically found around its productive waterholes scattered along the edge of the expansive salt pan. These life-sustaining waters draw in elephants and herds of antelope, which in turn attract predators like lions and cheetahs. On day 6, you’ll enjoy a late-afternoon game drive before leaving the national park to relax at a comfortable nearby lodge. The following day will be dedicated to exploring Etosha further, on game drives, and we will spend time waiting at the waterholes to observe the diverse wildlife come and go. Mid-range guest house located outside Etosha NP (Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 8
The landscape shifts as we head toward Rundu —acacia woodlands replacing the arid savanna and villages dotting the roadside. This journey reveals a softer, greener Namibia, where life clings to riverbanks and traditions thrive, offering a striking contrast to the stark beauty of Etosha’s salt pans. You'll stop for the night at our riverside lodge in Rundu and enjoy a spectacular sunset. Mid-range lodgenear Rundu (City, Namibia) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinks not included
Day 9
You'll follow the Okavango River eastward into the lush Caprivi Strip. You will game drive in Mahangu National Park seeking elephants, roan antelope, and predators thriving along the Kavango River's life-giving waterways. At your camp, you'll sit on the river’s edge, where there’s time to relax and enjoy the rich birdlife; kingfishers, hornbills, and weavers are commonly seen in the trees around camp. Mid-range lodge inside Mahango GR (Zambezi Region, Namibia) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 10
You'll cross into Botswana and travel south through the flat, rural landscape of the western Delta. Small villages and cattle posts are dotted along the way as you journey to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango. The changing scenery hints at the wetlands to come. You'll arrive with time to prepare for the Delta experience ahead. Mid-range lodge in Maun (City, Botswana) Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 11
Setting off early in the morning, you'll venture into the remarkable Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most unique and breathtaking ecosystems. As you drive toward this vast wetland, there's an opportunity to take an optional scenic helicopter flight (own expense). This aerial perspective offers an unforgettable view of the Delta’s intricate network of channels, floodplains, and islands. Upon reaching the mokoro launch station, you'll board a traditional dugout mekoro, guided by skilled local polers who navigate you to our remote wilderness camp. The Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world, is rich in wildlife, home to red lechwe, buffalo, elephants, and a dazzling array of bird species. As you glide silently through narrow, reed-fringed channels, you immerse yourself in the peaceful rhythm of the Delta, venturing deeper into its pristine wilderness. The tour leaders provide meals, and we ask that clients help (on rotation) with the washing up. Inside Okavango Delta (Botswana) All meals included Drinks not included
Day 13
You'll depart early from our Okavango Delta camp, retracing our route by mokoro to the poling station, where our open wildlife-viewing vehicle awaits. From here, you'll begin your journey north to Moremi Game Reserve. You'll explore Moremi, one of Africa’s premier wildlife areas. The reserve’s mosaic of landscapes supports thriving populations of elephant, hippo, buffalo, painted dog, leopard, and lion. Our game drives take you through both the Moremi and surrounding private concessions, giving us the best chance to encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including the region’s impressive predator population. You depart Moremi in the late afternoon, exploring the adjacent wildlife concession. By evening, you'll arrive at our tented camp, on the banks of the Khwai River. On day 14, you'll enjoy a game drive on the Mababe Private Reserve, a lesser-travelled area known for its wildlife and beauty, before making our way towards Maun for an evening restaurant meal at the lodge (own expense). Bordering Moremi GR (Okavango Delta, Botswana) without fences All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 15
Formed as the last remnants of an ancient mega-lake, these vast salt flats transform dramatically with seasonal rains. During dry months, the pans appear as endless white expanses, while summer rains create shallow waters that attract flamingos, pelicans, and migratory herds. In the afternoon, you'll visit Nata Bird Sanctuary and look out across the expanse of this unique ecosystem. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Makgadikgadi Pans NP (Botswana) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 16
Leaving our Botswanan adventure behind, you'll move into Zimbabwe and our lodge on the outskirts of the Matobo National Park, where you enjoy a sundowner and the magnificent views. You'll spend the following day exploring the Matobos on a game drive and guided bush walk in search of rhino. You'll visit World’s View and Cecil John Rhodes’ grave, set among towering granite hills or “dwalas” and balancing boulders. You'll visit a cave sheltering historically significant San rock art, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Mid-range guest house located just outside Matobo NP (Zimbabwe) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 18
Named after a local Nhanzwa chief, Hwange National Park is the largest Park in Zimbabwe, occupying roughly 14,650 square kilometers. Hwange is famed for its large elephant population. Our chalets are in the game management area that borders the park. You'll explore the park with our local guide on a full-day game drive in an open 4WD game viewing vehicle. Mid-range lodge located just outside Hwange NP (Zimbabwe) All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 20
You'll end your journey with an unforgettable guided walk through the misty rainforest to witness Victoria Falls in all its raw power —one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The final day provides opportunities for an evening cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, bungee jumping, or a “flight of angels” (own expense). We celebrate our adventure with a final dinner together at one of Victoria Falls’ local restaurants (own expense). Mid-range guest house located at Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 21
The tour ends on day 21 at the guesthouse at 8:00 am after breakfast. Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included

5.0/5I started at Victoria Falls and travelled through Botswana and Namibia, camping for most of 21 nights. I was a bit apprehensive as my trip had been delayed 3 years, but Bruce and Grace's communication was helpful, friendly and positive and made me feel happy. The trip itself was magnificent, it surpassed any expectations I had. My guides, Patrick and Moses were knowledgeable, humorous, hard working and catered meals to a high standard. I was well briefed each day about the itinerary, what to expect and lists of highlights. Geography, political and social information as well as superb information about the wildlife was constant and I gained such insights. I was comfortable in my tent and in the van - P and M always made sure to check I was okay. I really felt like I saw what was special, the itinerary was well set. I left Livingstone and Africa feeling like I left home, with a love that grew because my experience was so enriching. I can't thank Sunways, Patrick and Moses enough for the experience of a lifetime. My tour was NB21 and I would do it all again - though I have been told of the Malawi Mozambique tour and am saving my pennies.

We took the 16 day accommodated Game Tracker through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. We enjoyed every day of our trip. It was our first safari and so everything was new to us; we never tired of seeing the birds and animals and even just driving though the countryside. Our guides Chris and Joseph were outstanding. They always gave us a briefing about what to expect the next day, after dinner in the evening. They provided a wealth of information about the birds, animals, the culture and the landscape and even the economies of the countries we visited. We had a nice mix off meals in lodges/restaurants and meals made by the guides. Everything was delicious and by and large very healthy as well. While we were in Okavango, we had koodoo (farmed, not wild) stew. The lodges selected by Sunway were great- very comfortable and they usually had very nice grounds that were good for bird watching. Some of the restaurants are still learning about the logistics of serving customers and getting them their bills. But the guides are aware of this and so we usually placed our orders ahead of time so there were not long delays getting our meals. We absolutely detest camping, so we were not big fans of the accommodation in the Okavango Delta. If you like camping, it would be great. But anyway, we loved the whole Okavango experience. It was definitely worth any shortcomings with the accommodation. The local guides selected by Sunway for the most part were excellent. for example, our guide for Thebes River in Botswana seemed to know exactly how to position the boat and the safari vehicle to get the best pictures. Our favourite parts of the trip were the Thebes River cruise and game drive and the salt pan (for the birds). The vehicle we used to get from venue to venue was called the red elephant. It is a custom designed truck. The seating was comfortable and you got good views from the windows. We always had snacks available, mostly local fruits. Of course what everyone goes on a safari for is the animals. We got great views of lions, buffalo, hippos, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, koodoos, impala, monkeys and much more in many of the places we visited. The Sunway trip was great value and we would definitely consider another trip with Sunway
