Day 1
Addis Ababa – Robe – Dinsho – Habera Waterfall – Bale Mountains National Park
In the morning, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight from Addis Ababa to Robe Airport. Upon arrival, meet your guide and drive to Bale Mountains National Park headquarters at Dinsho, the gateway to one of Ethiopia’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Enjoy a guided nature walk through the juniper and Hagenia woodlands while searching for endemic wildlife including Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Bohor Reedbuck, Warthogs, and various bird species such as the Wattled Ibis. After lunch, continue driving deeper into the park toward the Afro-alpine landscapes and begin a scenic trek to Habera Waterfall through open moorlands and high-altitude scenery. Along the trail, there is a strong chance to spot the rare Ethiopian Wolf and Giant Mole Rat. Later, continue to your campsite near Habera Waterfall or return to Robe for overnight accommodation depending on your selected program option. Day 2
Habera – Web Valley – Adelay / Sanetti Plateau – Harenna Forest – Bale Robe
After breakfast, continue exploring the spectacular landscapes of Bale Mountains National Park with two program options based on your accommodation choice. For the camping program, begin a scenic trek from Habera to Adelay across the beautiful Web Valley, one of the park’s best wildlife viewing areas. Walk through Afro-alpine moorlands and Giant Lobelia fields while searching for the rare Ethiopian Wolf, Giant Mole Rat, and various birds of prey. Overnight camping at Adelay campsite surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. For the hotel comfort option, drive to the breathtaking Sanetti Plateau, one of Africa’s highest roads, for Ethiopian Wolf tracking and panoramic mountain views. Continue descending into the lush Harenna Forest to explore the Erica belt and bamboo forest habitat where the endemic Bale Monkey and forest birds may be spotted before returning to Bale Robe. Adelay – Dinsho – Robe – Addis Ababa / Gaysay Grassland – Robe – Addis Ababa
After breakfast, continue your final day inside Bale Mountains National Park with activities depending on your selected program option. For the camping program, hike from Adelay back to Dinsho through beautiful Hagenia woodlands, juniper forests, and open grasslands while enjoying opportunities to spot Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Olive Baboons, Bohor Reedbuck, and various endemic bird species. Upon arrival at Dinsho, transfer to Robe Airport for your domestic flight back to Addis Ababa. For the hotel comfort option, after breakfast drive to the scenic Gaysay Grasslands for final wildlife viewing, birdwatching, and photography opportunities in the beautiful savannah landscape before transferring to Robe Airport for your return flight to Addis Ababa. I don’t usually like booking tours because of many bad experiences, however, at the time Ethiopia demanded it. I was so lucky to find Melashu’s company. It’s the most transparent, respectful, informative and well managed tour. I did the northern Ethiopian route (volcano, Danakil depression etc) and they managed to make me feel comfortable in a difficult weather environment and very safe in an area of conflict. It’s incredible to have such yummy food in the middle of nowhere! Thank you,

Just got back from a 4-day tour with Ethio Wildlife and it honestly blew me away. We visited several different tribes in Omo valley and each day was completely unique and eye-opening. The whole trip felt very genuine and respectful, not staged or touristy at all. Accommodations were simple but clean and comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Organized and responsive
I contacted several tour operators in May 2025 hoping to join a group tour of the Simien mountains but since it is a slow tourist season there were none available. Ethio Wildlife were able to organize a private tour for me at a reasonable cost. They handled everything. The guide/driver/chef/scout were incredibly nice people and it was a pleasure to spend 3 days with them in the park. The guide in particular was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
