Dallol is a cinder cone volcano in the Danakil Depression, although its unique geology means it lacks any of the archetypal volcanic looks. Instead, Dallol is a canvas of bright green, reds, and yellows distributed across hundreds of hot acidic springs and mounds of salt deposits. The volcano contains an active lava lake, which means the lava in the crater remains liquid due to convection currents of the magma system underneath. The lava spits and splatters.

You'll be picked up from the airport in Semera, then drive through Lake Afdera, the Salt Lake, passing through the beautiful Lake Afdera and a breathtaking landscape. You will drive about 7-8 hours to reach Hamed’Ela. On the way, you will stop at Lake Afdera for lunch and maybe even swim a bit. You will stop before arriving at Hamed’Ela for taking sunset picture in the desert with some palm trees. Depending on the time, this evening you will visit Lake Asale with salt flats and have a wine or beer in the stunning place while you are swimming in the Salt Lake. All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 2
Early morning, you'll drive from Hamed’Ela campsite to see the sunrise at Lake Asele. You'll drive to Hamed’Ela through Berhal’e. Passing through the small town of Berhale, where the camel caravan stops before passing to the Northern Highland. En-route you will see many long camel caravans going to the salt mine and others coming out of Danakil with their salt loaded on the camel. Drive to Askoma and stop, trek 10 minutes from Askoma. You'll drive back to Hamed’Ela and have Lunch. After lunch, you'll continue driving to Erta’Ale, which ranks as one of the most physically challenging natural attractions in Ethiopia. It is a shield volcano with a base diameter of 30 km and a 1 km square caldera at its Summit. After a short break and, just before sunset, you'll trek for about 20 to 30 minutes to Erta’Ale caldera, and spend a few hours watching the dramatic action of the boiling lava. After taking photos, you will trek back to the camp. You will have dinner and sleep under the stars. All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 3
You'll wake up early in the morning, and trek to the caldera to watch the two miraculous things on Earth, the sun rising and fresh magma at the same time. You will trek back to the campsite and have breakfast. After breakfast, you'll drive to Afdera. You'll stop and visit Lake Afdera. The Lake is only visible during the Ethiopian rainy season, but you might have a little chance to see it during the summer, the mythical Lake Afdera, a saltwater lake located more than 100 meters below sea level, in one of the deepest depressions of the planet. Because of the picturesque landscape, it is interesting to visit the salt flats where the Afar people obtain the salt by evaporating the water of the lake. After visiting the lake, you will have lunch and continue our drive to Semera Airport on an asphalt road, and have a domestic flight to Addis Ababa. All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks

5.0/5Our tour preferences were very well combined, we received a very detailed tour description for the 4 weeks in advance, which then also took place as planned, with a fair value of money . The communication was perfect. Flights, hotels, visits to attractions, entrances, and transportation were very well organized and coordinated. Our tour guide Haile was very friendly, absolutely reliable, and trustworthy. On-site, he has a good network, the local guides, and drivers were also always very good. Our safety was Haile's top priority. We can wholeheartedly recommend Finot Tours Ethiopia.

Great experience! My wife and me did a 13-day long tour of Harar, Bale mountain an Omo valley and considering the very high quality of both the guides and the tour itself we felt we got our money's worth. Hailemeskel of Finot Tour Ethiopia has specially for us developed great tour itinerary! We have a good 4WD car and accommodation in nice hotels and lodges. Our main guide and driver Lmuel, was fantastic. He's very knowledgeable and has a very nice attitude towards guests! We discussed various aspects of life and nature in Ethiopia and we began to feel him as a friend. Both gentlemen were very kind and nice and they made our experience so wonderful. So it really feels like we made friends and it made us feel as if we weren't just tourists. All in all this was an amazing experience. We highly recommend Finot Tour Ethiopia. Thank you very much Haile and Lmuel!

Traveling with Finot is a great, real adventure. A great guide with good contacts in the places you visit. Thanks to this, we were able to see more interesting things than others. Trip to the tribes of the Omo Valley.

My six day trip to the Lower Omo Valley was very interesting and well organized. A good guide (Danny), a comfortable car and nice lodges/hotels made the trip most enjoyable. Danny's knowledge about culture and nature was great. He also knew the names of all the birds we saw which I appreciated. Since I was a solo guest we also had a flexible schedule. From time to time we also met friendly Haile who travelled with another group. Since all costs were included I did not have to think about paying local guides etc. But they all appreciate a small tip. I can highly recommend Finot Tour.
