Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera and begin your journey into the dramatic Danakil Depression. Drive past Lake Afdera, famous for its high salt concentration, salt flats, and extreme heat reaching over 50°C. Visit Hamdella village to experience the daily life and traditions of the Afar people in this harsh desert environment. End the day at Lake Asale, one of Africa’s lowest and hottest points, enjoying sunset and sunrise views before overnight at Hamdella camp. Hamedela to Dallol – Volcano & Mineral Springs
Start the day driving to Dallol, one of the hottest and most surreal places on Earth within the Danakil Depression. Continue to an active volcano area to witness the raw power of nature and geological activity. In the evening, relax at a nearby camp and prepare for the final day of adventure. Return to Semera – Fly to Addis Ababa
