Day 1
Arrival in Johannesburg from Cape Town, then depart for Pilanesberg
Guests will fly to Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo Airport from Cape Town International Airport. A private transfer will be awaiting your arrival. You will be driven to Pilanesberg Game Reserve. After exploring the game reserve for a few hours, arrive at the aha Ivory Tree Game Lodge at midday. Have a light lunch and relax before departing for a late afternoon game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Return to the lodge as the sun is setting and enjoy a delicious dinner at the restaurant or outdoor boma. Pilanesberg Game Reserve
Kick off with a 3-hour morning game drive in an open safari vehicle, guided by Ivory Trees expert guides, returning around 9 AM for a hearty breakfast. Relax at the lodge’s world-class facilities, pamper yourself at the spa, or lounge by the pool. Enjoy lunch and a delightful high tea before a 3-hour sunset game drive from 4 PM to 7 PM in an open safari vehicle, seeking more wildlife wonders. Return for a delectable dinner at the lodge. Pilanesberg to Johannesburg
Start with a 3-hour morning game drive in an open safari vehicle, returning around 9 AM for a flavourful breakfast. Spend the morning enjoying the lodge’s 5-star amenities or spa. At 12 PM, opt for a short game drive in a closed vehicle for a final wildlife thrill, or relax at the lodge (pickup at 2:30 PM if skipping the drive). Depart Pilanesberg at 3 PM, arriving in Johannesburg between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. Need an airport drop-off by 6 PM? Share your flight details! Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
