Day 1
Durban to Phinda Forest Lodge
Guests will be picked up from the airport or a pick-up point in Durban and the surrounding areas. The duration of the drive is between 3 and 4 hours. Alternatively, you can fly directly into the game reserve’s airstrip with Federal Air. MoAfrika can assist with booking scheduled commercial flights to these airports. Upon arrival at Phinda Forest Lodge, you can enjoy some refreshments and relax until it is time for the afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle, with sundowners and snacks along the drive. Take along the complimentary pair of Swarovski Optik binoculars for the best views of elusive animals. Back at the lodge, a scrumptious starlit dinner awaits. Morning & Sundowner Safaris
Rise early for a hot drink before you depart on the early morning game drive, during which you can enjoy a bush cappuccino rendezvous between searches for animals. Back at the lodge, you can savour brunch before relaxing more until high tea in the afternoon. Your afternoon game drive will follow the pattern of the previous evening, rounded off by dinner. Phinda to Durban
After an early rise and favourite hot drink, your last morning game drive will offer another opportunity to spot some nocturnal animals still out hunting. Enjoy another African sunrise and brunch back at the lodge, before it is time for your departure. You can also swop the morning game drive for an exhilarating bush walk with your aptly qualified and expert guide. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
