You can either catch a shuttle from OR Tambo International Airport at 7 AM or fly into Hoedspruit Airport from Cape Town or Johannesburg, both of which will take you to RockFig Safari Lodge. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and treated to a light lunch, setting the tone for your stay. Afterward, depart on your first exciting afternoon game drive in the stunning Timbavati region, where you'll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife. The day culminates with a delightful dinner, providing a perfect introduction to the beauty of the African wilderness. Walking Safari & Game Drive
Immerse yourself in nature with a guided walking safari, where you’ll track animals on foot and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem. Later, engage with a local community project to learn about the culture and traditions of the area, or simply unwind at the lodge. As the sun sets, depart on an evening game drive, followed by a cozy dinner by the fire, sharing stories of the day’s adventures. On your final day, start with one last exhilarating game drive, soaking in the sights and sounds of the bush. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely brunch at the lodge, reflecting on your unforgettable experiences before checking out and departing with cherished memories of your time at RockFig Safari Lodge. Your shuttle will drive you to OR Tambo Airport for arrival between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, or to Hoedspruit Airport for your returning flight. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
