Embark on a three-day safari with MoAfrika Tours through Madikwe's beautiful landscape and stay at one of the exclusive Lodges in the reserve. Day 1
Johannesburg to Madikwe Game Reserve
Your driver will pick you up either at the airport or at the location where you are staying in Johannesburg. There will be a stop for refreshments along the route. You will be greeted and shown about the lodge at The Bush House before being brought to the game-viewing hide as soon as you arrive at the southern gate of Madikwe Game Reserve early in the afternoon. After a swim to cool down, visitors may gather for savoury and sweet treats during afternoon tea. The evening wildlife drive, led by a seasoned local ranger, will begin soon, so grab your cameras and get ready to go in an open safari vehicle. Madikwe has the Big Five. After the breathtaking African sunset, guests will have the opportunity to watch wildlife using spotlights in order to detect nocturnal animals. Before getting some rest in your luxury room, you will have dinner at the lodge. This is an unforgettable experience, especially when it's served in the boma surrounded by a campfire. Day 2
Madikwe Game Reserve
Before departing on the early morning wildlife drive, rise before dawn and have a hot beverage with fellow tourists. It's the finest time to observe predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs and other wildlife, too, because of the cooler weather. Your ranger will give interesting information about the behaviours of various animals and birds as you go along in the 4x4 vehicle, which offers fantastic opportunities for photography. After returning to the resort for a full breakfast, spend some time in the animal "hide" adjacent to the Bush House waterhole to continue your safari experience. Elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other animals of all shapes and sizes may be seen drinking. Join your ranger for a sunset game drive later in the day, after you've had some scrumptious tea, and get ready for some more action-packed fun! The highlights of the day will be discussed over dinner, which will consist of classic bush food and maybe a bottle of South African Cape wine. Day 3
Madikwe Game Reserve to Johannesburg
Have some refreshments on the veranda before getting in the open safari vehicle to go on a wildlife drive at sunrise. If you're lucky, you could get a glimpse of some of Madikwe's most elusive animals, like a leopard or a group of wild dogs, while you're out on this trip. Take a break for coffee along the way and listen to the sounds of the forest in the early morning. As you make your way back to the lodge for breakfast in the great outdoors, don't forget to keep an eye out for wild animals. Visit the hide about mid-morning, when elephants are often drinking for one more photo op before leaving. When you have finished packing and have checked out of The Bush House, you will embark on a leisurely drive back to Johannesburg to arrive either at your hotel or the airport. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
