Day 1
Upon arrival in Dinsho, home to the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park, begin your safari experience with a guided hike through the park’s scenic juniper woodlands. This area offers excellent opportunities to spot several endemic and endangered mammals, including Menelik’s bushbuck, Mountain nyala, warthog, reedbuck, and gray duiker. Birdwatchers will be delighted by sightings of Ethiopian endemic birds such as the Abyssinian flycatcher, Wattled ibis, and Abyssinian catbird, all thriving in this unique habitat. Overnight Dinsho Campsite. Inside Bale Mountains NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
After breakfast, drive from Goba to the spectacular Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa. As you traverse this vast Afro-alpine landscape, watch for falcons, raptors, and the rare Ethiopian wolf, one of the world’s most endangered canid species. Enjoy breathtaking scenery of moorlands, alpine lakes, and sweeping highland views as you pass near Tullu Dimtu (4,377 m), the second-highest peak in Ethiopia. The dramatic altitude and unique ecology make this one of the most striking areas in the country. Overnight campsite. Inside Bale Mountains NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
After breakfast, drive south toward the lush Harenna Forest, Ethiopia’s second-largest tropical rainforest. En route, keep an eye out for the Ethiopian wolf, Abyssinian hare, and water birds such as Blue-winged goose, Ruddy shelduck, and Wattled crane. Arriving in Harenna Forest (approximately 2,977 m), enjoy a guided hike through bamboo trails and toward scenic waterfalls. This forest is home to the endemic Bale monkey, as well as colobus monkeys, forest hogs, bush pigs, and, with luck, leopards. After exploring the forest, begin a slow scenic drive back through the Sanetti Plateau, stopping at key wildlife areas for additional chances to spot Ethiopian wolves and endemic birds. Overnight: campsite. Inside Bale Mountains NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
After breakfast, transfer to Goba Airport for your flight to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy a short Addis Ababa city tour, including visits to the National Museum, Mount Entoto, and nearby parks. In the late afternoon or evening, enjoy a farewell dinner, marking the end of your Bale Mountains safari experience before preparing for your international departure. Our journey began Simien Mountains in northern part of Ethiopia provided breathtaking hiking opportunities, with stunning vistas and encounters with endemic wildlife like the Gelada baboons. Our knowledgeable guide Abrham led us through the rugged terrain, making every step worthwhile. Next we travel to visit Lalibela Rock hewn churches , where the awe-inspiring rock-hewn churches left us speechless. The spiritual ambiance and the stories shared by our guide Abrham deepened our appreciation for this UNESCO World Heritage site. Finally we ventured into the Danakil Depression a true adventure! The otherworldly landscapes, vibrant colors, and the thrill of witnessing bubbling lava at Erta Ale were unforgettable. Camping under the stars in such a remote area was a highlight of our trip. We returned from an incredible tour of the Omo Valley in southern part of Ethiopia , and we can't recommend it enough! Our guide Abrham was knowledgeable and passionate about the diverse cultures of the various tribes we visited, including the , Chamo lakes ,Kara Villages Hamar , Mursi , Dassanech Tribeand others. The landscapes were breathtaking, from lush valleys to stunning river views. The highlight was definitely the traditional ceremonies we were fortunate enough to witness. The warmth and hospitality of the local people made this trip unforgettable. If you're looking for a unique cultural experience, Southern Ethiopia is a must-visit! Finally, we explored the Bale Mountains, where tranquility reigns supreme. The chance to spot the rare Ethiopian wolf amidst pristine nature was a dream come true. The combination of comfortable accommodations and delicious local cuisine made for a perfect end to our adventure. And we highly recommend Vowland Ethiopia Tour!!
