Day 1
Nairobi to Diani Beach via Mombasa
Your coastal adventure begins with an early morning transfer from your Nairobi Airport to the SGR terminal, where you'll board the train to Mombasa. Enjoy a comfortable and scenic journey, witnessing Kenya's diverse landscapes unfold before you. Upon arrival at the Mombasa SGR terminal, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Diani Beach. After checking in, indulge in a delightful lunch at the hotel. The rest of your afternoon is free to relax by the pool, take a leisurely stroll along the pristine Diani Beach, or simply unwind in your comfortable accommodations. Optional Wasini Island Excursion or Relaxation & Beach Day
You can choose to embark on an exciting journey to Wasini Island, or opt for a full day of relaxation on Diani Beach. If you choose the Wasini Island option, following an early breakfast, you'll be transferred to the Shimoni pier, where you'll board a traditional dhow. Set sail for the marine park, where you can immerse yourself in the underwater world by snorkeling or diving and discovering vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Keep an eye out for playful dolphins and graceful sea turtles. Afterwards, you'll visit Wasini Island, a charming Swahili village, and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch. Explore the island, learn about its local culture, and then return to Shimoni pier by dhow. A comfortable transfer will take you back to your Diani Beach hotel, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. Alternatively, if you wish to relax, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel and spend the day unwinding on the beautiful Diani Beach, by the pool, or enjoying the hotel amenities. Bask in the sun on the white sandy beach, take a refreshing swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or simply relax by the pool. Enjoy the hotel's amenities and savor a delicious lunch at your leisure. As the sun sets, take a peaceful stroll along the beach, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Upon arrival at the Nairobi SGR terminal, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your Nairobi accommodation or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your memorable safari. Excellent guides, smooth booking, and incredible game drives—perfect safari experience
We booked our safari with Wildscope Adventures and had an amazing experience! Our guide Gorden was outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent at spotting wildlife. In Masai Mara, we saw lions hunting, a cheetah chase, a leopard, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, and so many bird species. The highlight was starting early in the morning—definitely worth it. We stayed at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, which was very convenient and had great buffet meals. At Lake Nakuru, we spotted rhinos, baboons, flamingos, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, lions, and even a waterfall. Watching wildlife in the rain was a special experience, though our hotel was a bit far from the park. A few things to note: 1. The Masai village visit felt a bit commercial, with pressure to tip or buy souvenirs. 2. Wildebeest migration is no longer guaranteed in peak season (June–October) due to climate change, but safari prices remain high—set your expectations. 3. Paying in cash is better, as online payments often come with hidden charges. Overall, an unforgettable safari full of incredible sightings—highly recommended!
