Day 3
Today, we continue our journey northward towards stunning Lake Malawi, a breathtaking natural wonder that spans one-fifth of Malawi’s total landmass. Stretching 575km in length and up to 85km at its widest point, this vast inland sea covers an impressive 23,000 square km. Fed by 14 rivers, yet drained by only one—the Shire River—Lake Malawi is a true marvel of nature. One of its most remarkable features is its incredible biodiversity, with over 350 species of endemic fish, making it a paradise for nature lovers. Cape Maclear is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re into water-skiing, snorkeling, or kayaking, the calm waters and sandy shores make it the perfect retreat.
