Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park for an Overnight
On arrival in Kigali and scenic transfer to Volcanoes National Park through the countryside of Rwanda, observing the Rwanda community day-to-day life before you head to Kinigi, a home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. This is among the only parks apart from Mgahinga National Park where you find the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys survive in the same ecosystem. Golden Monkey Tracking – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park, where these rare primates share the ecosystem with mountain gorillas. Afternoon: Scenic transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda). Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its ancient forest with tree species found nowhere else. It is the only park in Uganda where chimpanzees and mountain gorillas coexist in the same ecosystem. A recent census recorded a healthy population of chimpanzees, so there’s a possibility of spotting them along the trail. Optional Cultural Experience: Visit the Batwa community. The Batwa are indigenous forest people who for generations survived by gathering fruits, herbs, wild honey, and living in harmony with the forest. After being relocated for gorilla conservation, their way of life changed dramatically. Today, they share their traditions, dances, and stories, offering visitors a glimpse into their resilience and heritage. Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi– Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You'll have an early Morning Gorilla tracking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The park is divided into different tracking sectors, each offering unique encounters with gorilla families. Over the years, Bwindi has achieved remarkable conservation success. The number of gorilla babies being born has steadily increased, boosting gorilla tourism and strengthening the park’s role in global wildlife preservation. In the Afternoon, you'll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, a breathtaking lake dotted with 29 islands, known for its tranquility and scenic beauty. Experience Canoeing on lake Bunyonyi– Return to Kigali
Early morning canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi, famously known as the “Lake of Little Birds.” The lake is dotted with cultural islands, each carrying its own legends and stories. Cruising and paddling among these islands offer not just breathtaking scenery of the highlands, but also tales that linger long after the journey. Community Connection- Engaging with the local community around the lake provides insight into how people survive and thrive in this unique environment — from traditional farming on steep hillsides to fishing and crafts. In the afternoon, you'll transfer back to Kigali. You are likely to arrival in Kigali, marking the end of the trip. You can decide to enjoy Kigali night life.
