Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon your morning arrival in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver-guide, who will brief you about your safari before heading to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the country's poignant history and pay your respects. After an insightful visit, you will embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the majestic mountain gorillas, and will lunch en route. As you journey through the picturesque landscapes of rolling hills and lush vegetation, you'll have a chance to admire the beauty of this region. Once you arrive in Bwindi, you will check into your accommodation, freshen up, and have dinner before enjoying a restful evening, preparing for the adventure ahead. Day 2
Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the experienced guides on gorilla trekking safety and regulations. The trek through the dense forest in search of the magnificent gorillas promises to be a thrilling experience, offering opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife and unique plant species along the way. Once you encounter a gorilla family, spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Batwa community, where you will learn about their rich culture and traditions. You’ll experience traditional dances, storytelling, and perhaps even try your hand at some local crafts before transferring to Mgahinga National Park for an overnight stay. Golden Monkey Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi Experience
You'll start your day with a hearty breakfast, followed by an exciting trek in search of the playful golden monkeys in Mgahinga National Park. These endangered primates are known for their energetic behaviour and distinctive golden fur, providing a delightful experience for wildlife enthusiasts. After your trek, you'll return to the hotel and check out, heading to Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its stunning beauty and tranquil waters. You can relax by the lakeside or take a short boat ride to visit some of the small islands dotted across the lake, allowing for picturesque views and opportunities to explore the local culture. Day 4
Boat Cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer Back to Kigali
On your final day, you'll depart early after breakfast. On your way, you'll stop by the Viewpoint, where you get the lake’s view from above. Lake Bunyonyi, located in southwestern Uganda, is a picturesque body of water known for its stunning scenery and 29 islands. It's famous for its depth (reportedly up to 900 meters, making it one of the deepest lakes in Africa) and the unique history associated with some of its islands, particularly "Punishment Island". You'll proceed with the journey to Kigali. On your way, you'll enjoy the countryside views and vibrant landscapes. Upon arrival in Kigali, you'll be dropped off at the airport for your onward travels or at your accommodation, which can be booked at an extra cost.
