You will then transfer to Chitembe Main Camp, nestled in the wildlife-rich Chitembe region along the Zambezi River. Afternoon/evening: Settle into your tent (Mhumhi Camp for families or Jackalberry Camp for luxury). Join a late-afternoon game drive through open floodplains and riverine forests, spotting elephants, buffalo, or predators (or choose a boat safari or relaxation). Enjoy a sandbank sundowner as your guide shares tales of the bush. Return for a hearty dinner under the stars in the thatched dining rondavel, hosted by warm camp managers who contribute to Chitembe’s “ultimate” safari experience, as praised by an expert traveler. Choose a guided walking safari, a signature experience offering intimate wildlife encounters and a deeper connection to Mana Pools’ landscapes, or opt for a game drive or birding, part of Chitembe’s “finest combination” of activities. Return for a delicious brunch by the river. Afternoon: Relax in the lounge or by the Zambezi. Select an exclusive boat safari, a rare privilege as Chitembe is the only camp in Mana Pools licensed for powerboats, to watch elephants cross the river, fish for tigerfish, or enjoy a riverside picnic or choose a game drive or relaxation. Evening: Savor sundowners on the water or sandbank, with guides bringing the bush to life through stories. Dine under African skies, with meals crafted by top-tier chefs. Return for a leisurely breakfast. Afternoon: Unwind in your tent’s seating area or by the riverfront. Select an afternoon game drive, another walking safari, or a boat safari for close-up wildlife encounters in the Chitembe region, contributing to Chitembe’s reputation as the “ultimate” safari destination. Evening: Enjoy drinks from the bar and a fireside dinner, with camp managers fostering the heartfelt hospitality that makes Chitembe stand out. 5.0/5Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe

Martin took us through the reserve to locate the animals. He answered our questions and taught us so many things about the big 5

We had a very good time at the Dumela Tented Camp. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The guides on the game drives were really good. We had luck and could see many different animals.

Really enjoyable and informative tour which also included an eye opening tour of the poorer parts of Soweto. Our guide Thomas was excellent , very knowledgable about a number of key historical events . A top quality tour and highly recommended .
