Nairobi-Samburu National Reserve
You will be picked up in the morning from your Nairobi hotel or airport and drive north through the central highlands into the arid and dramatic landscapes of Samburu. You'll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu is home to the rare Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk—as well as lions, leopards, and elephants. Full-Day in Samburu National Reserve
You'll spend the day exploring Samburu’s unique ecosystem on morning and afternoon game drives. The landscape here is dry and rugged, with open savannahs, rocky outcrops, and acacia woodlands that support diverse wildlife not commonly found in southern Kenya. Look out for predators lounging by the riverbanks, herds of elephants crossing the plains, and colorful birdlife among the trees. Between drives, you'll enjoy leisure time at your lodge. Samburu-Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, you'll depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located on the Laikipia Plateau with stunning views of Mount Kenya. You'll arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is a conservation leader, home to the Big Five, the last two northern white rhinos, and Kenya’s only chimpanzee sanctuary. Your visit supports cutting-edge conservation and community programs. You'll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the wild. After breakfast, you'll drive deeper into the Laikipia region, heading to one of its exclusive private conservancies such as Lewa, Loisaba, or Ol Lentille. You'll arrive in time for lunch and settle in before heading out on an afternoon activity. Laikipia offers some of Kenya’s most innovative and intimate safari experiences, including camel safaris, bush walks, and horseback riding, all while supporting community-led conservation.
