After breakfast, explore the Forty Springs and visit the Crocodile Market. Enjoy a thrilling boat trip on Lake Chamo to spot hippos, giant crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife. Day 2
After breakfast, we will drive to Konso and have a lunch break. In Konso, we will visit one of the nine UNESCO registered villages. The Konso people are known for erecting stones and poles called generation poles, which are raised every 18 years to mark the start of a new generation. The age of a village can be determined by the number of poles that are still standing. After the visit, we will drive to Turmi for the overnight stay. Mid-range lodge located in Turmi (Lower Omo Valley) All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 3
After breakfast, we will drive to Kara Village, home to the Kara people. They live along the east banks of the Omo River and are renowned for their large, picturesque settlements and the striking traditional body and face painting often seen among the children. After exploring the village, we will return to Turmi for a lunch break. In the afternoon, if we are fortunate, we may witness the remarkable bull-jumping ceremony—a rite of passage in which a young man earns the title of “man” by leaping over 5 to 13 cattle lined up in a row. If there is no bull-jumping event that day, we will instead visit a Hamer community in the afternoon. In the evening, we will enjoy a vibrant celebration featuring the Evan Gady dance, also known as the “night dance.”. Mid-range lodge located in Turmi (Lower Omo Valley) All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 4
In the morning, we will drive to Omorate and cross the great Omo River by local boat to visit the Dassanech community. After the visit, we will return to Turmi for a lunch break before continuing to Dimeka town, where the Hamer, Beena, and Kara peoples gather for their lively weekly market. If there is no bull-jumping ceremony on Friday, there is a higher chance of witnessing it on this day—a captivating rite of passage where a young man leaps over several cattle to mark his transition into adulthood. If no bull-jumping event takes place, we will drive to Jinka. For those with energy to spare, an optional late-afternoon visit to the Jinka Museum will offer further insight into the diverse cultures of the Omo Valley. Budget hotel located in Jinka (Lower Omo Valley) All meals included Non-alcoholic drinks
Day 5
Early in the morning, we will drive to a Mursi village, where you can experience the distinctive traditions of this small cultural group in the Lower Omo Valley. Mursi women are renowned for their elaborate lip plates made of clay, worn as a form of adornment, while Mursi men are known for painting striking patterns on their bodies. After the visit, we will return to Jinka for a lunch break before departing for Addis Ababa at 13:10, arriving at 14:20. Breakfast & lunch (Dinner not included) Non-alcoholic drinks

5.0/5I don’t usually like booking tours because of many bad experiences, however, at the time Ethiopia demanded it. I was so lucky to find Melashu’s company. It’s the most transparent, respectful, informative and well managed tour. I did the northern Ethiopian route (volcano, Danakil depression etc) and they managed to make me feel comfortable in a difficult weather environment and very safe in an area of conflict. It’s incredible to have such yummy food in the middle of nowhere! Thank you,

Great tour through an amazing landscape. Tour was perfectly organized, no complaints. Somewhere my shoes got lost but when I came back in Addes they were waiting for me in the hotel. Their service goes beyond. Thanks for that

Just got back from a 4-day tour with Ethio Wildlife and it honestly blew me away. We visited several different tribes in Omo valley and each day was completely unique and eye-opening. The whole trip felt very genuine and respectful, not staged or touristy at all. Accommodations were simple but clean and comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for something meaningful and way off the beaten path, I’d 100% recommend this experience. I came back with a full heart and a totally new perspective.

I contacted several tour operators in May 2025 hoping to join a group tour of the Simien mountains but since it is a slow tourist season there were none available. Ethio Wildlife were able to organize a private tour for me at a reasonable cost. They handled everything. The guide/driver/chef/scout were incredibly nice people and it was a pleasure to spend 3 days with them in the park. The guide in particular was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
