Tour step
You'll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts cannot be arranged by this operator.
Day 1
You'll be picked up and leave Johannesburg in a 7-seater air-conditioned microbus with our experienced Kruger Park guide. You will travel east across the Highveld farmlands and down into the Lowveld city of Nelspruit/Mbombela, the capital of Mpumalanga Province. After a lunch break, you will enter Southern Kruger Park for your first exciting game drive. You'll travel through lightly wooded bushveld, where you can expect to see antelope, giraffe and possibly elephant. Before sunset, drive a short distance to Sabie River Bush Lodge, where we stay overnight. You will be booked into a lodge room or en-suite safari tent with air-conditioning and modern furnishings. You have time to relax on the deck, looking across the extensive Sabie River, hoping to see some hippos or crocodiles. Your guide will arrange dinner in the Gecko Lapa restaurant, which is a 3-course meal. Wi-Fi is available so you can keep in touch with family and friends. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Southern Kruger NP Dinner (Breakfast & lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 2
You will have an early start with a quick cup of coffee. Then, board the open safari vehicle and head into Kruger National Park for your sunrise game drive. You'll travel through bushveld areas and probably along the river looking for the Big 5 species (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). The Sabie River is a dominant feature of Southern Kruger, and travelling along the banks can be exciting. After about 3 hours, stop at a camp where your guide will provide breakfast packs and allow you time to relax. Continue on the mid-morning drive, visiting any top sightings reported for the day. Around lunchtime, you'll stop for refreshments, browse the curio shop, and then continue with the afternoon drive, which finishes back at Sabie River Bush Lodge. You can swim or relax, then enjoy sundowners on the deck overlooking the Sabie River, with one of the best photo opportunities "on safari in Africa". Join your guide for dinner in the licensed restaurant with the menu for the day. Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Southern Kruger NP Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 3
You will have breakfast on the deck at 06h30, then bid farewell to the river lodge. Depart for your first morning game drive in search of the elusive Big 5 species, such as the leopard. While travelling north, you can expect to see more grasslands near Tshokwane, where you will have a stop. Your guide will check the sightings board and set off for the second morning drive towards Central Kruger Park and some popular waterholes. Around lunchtime, you'll arrive at Satara and check into an air-conditioned chalet with screens over the windows to prevent unwanted insects. Explore the camp which has a pool, large shop, deli-café and main restaurant. Note that the Wi-Fi signal is limited in this area. Later, your guide will take you to the sunset drive assembly area, where a national parks safari vehicle equipped with spotlights will take you to search for nocturnal species such as hyenas or big cats. Return to camp for dinner in the Cattle Baron Bistro, well-known for its juicy steaks. Mid-range rest camp located inside Central Kruger NP Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 4
Pack up, grab a quick coffee and depart on your final morning game drive heading towards the exit gate of Kruger Park. Review your checklist as you travel to a country restaurant for breakfast. The rest of the day is devoted to sightseeing on the Panorama Route. You will visit the amazing Three Rondavels in Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window and other attractions. You have time to browse the informal markets for African curios and stop for lunch. Then, drive down Kowyn’s Pass to Hazyview and check into Hazyview Sun Hotel or an alternate 4-star hotel with a pool, bar and restaurant. Your guide will arrange a table for dinner and check on any special diets. Mid-range hotel located in Hazyview (Town) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 5
You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel, discussing the highlights of your safari and the tourist attractions in this Lowveld region. It is a rich agricultural area, especially for sub-tropical fruit. Depart from Hazyview, travel past orchards and forests to Nelspruit/Mbombela, then back up to the Highveld. You'll arrive in Johannesburg at OR Tambo Airport or a nearby hotel by 16h00. Please allow 1.5 hours of connecting time for local flights or 3 hours for international flights. Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included

5.0/5We loved the tour! We stayed in 3 different locations and we expected that we would be eating breakfast at the resorts but our guide Hoppy took us to other locations and we were able to pick what we wanted. Every place he took us to eat was fantastic! The tour on the park was also fantastic! We saw everything but the leopard (he was hiding). Loved it! And the places we stayed were beautiful!

We had an amazing experience with Hoppy Hawell and Wildlife Safaris. The communication was great, the team was very responsive and even provided suggestions on where to stay near the airport for an easy transition. Our guide Hoppy picked us at the airport and then we started with the Panorama drive for great landscape views and spots. The lodges and camps they partner with were great for nice views and easy wildlife encounters. The tour was worth every penny to have everything coordinated by them. Hoppy was very nice and experienced in the Kruger park and knew every spot to find the animals. We got our Big 5 spotting and much more! He’s really knowledgeable and answered our million questions from trees, to birds to animals. Thank you Wildlife Safaris and Hoppy for making this an experience we will never forget.

My experience with Wildlife Safaris far exceeded expectations. We saw the big 5 - included 2 rhinos & 3 leopards - and countless other giraffe, hyena, zebra, baboons, a menagerie of unique birds and much more. Our guide Brian was fantastic - his ability to spot wildlife and identify the countless species was fantastic. He also kept us on schedule without us ever feeling rushed. Cannot recommend this higher!
