Your adventure begins with a departure from OR Tambo Bus Terminal at 7:00 AM. Journey through the scenic Highveld and Lowveld of Mpumalanga, arriving at a private camp near Kruger National Park by 1:00 PM. After a quick lunch (not included) and check-in, enjoy an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle through a private reserve. Look out for the Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—along with giraffes and zebras. Conclude the day with sundowners in the bush, followed by a delicious African dinner and campfire stories. Rise at 5:00 AM for coffee and rusks, departing for Kruger National Park by 5:30 AM. Spend 7-8 thrilling hours exploring the Orpen-Satara area, a lion hotspot, with your expert guide adapting the route based on wildlife activity. Maximize your chances for unforgettable encounters with the Big Five and other species. Return to camp in the late afternoon to unwind, then enjoy dinner by the fire under the African sky. Panorama Route
Depart from Hoedspruit between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM to maximize daylight and avoid midday heat. Embark on the stunning Panorama Route, featuring: - Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondavels: Admire one of the world’s largest canyons, dubbed the largest “green canyon” for its lush subtropical vegetation and red sandstone outcrops. - The Three Rondavels’ beehive-shaped peaks offer a stunning overlook. - God’s Window: Take in panoramic vistas that may extend to Mozambique and Kruger National Park on clear days. - The Pinnacle: Marvel at this lone quartzite column rising from dense indigenous forest, a regional landmark. - Lunch in Graskop: Enjoy a leisurely break in this charming hamlet known for its pancake houses and local eateries (lunch not included). - Lisbon Falls: Witness the region’s highest waterfall, cascading in two streams over a 90-meter precipice. Return to the Orpen-Satara area for another 7- 8 hour adventure, allowing deeper exploration of this lion-rich region. Your guide will adjust the route based on wildlife patterns, offering fresh sightings and perspectives. Return to camp in the late afternoon, followed by a farewell dinner. Our first Big 5 Safari Tour was nothing short of incredible! From the very start, the excitement was unreal and it only got better with every moment out in the wild. Seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide Martin was knowledgeable, passionate and made the whole experience even more special. It’s something we’ll never forget, truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! But we will repeat it as we still have to „hunt“ leopard 🐆 hehe
