Day 1
Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport in Nairobi. Travel in a luxury 4x4 safari jeep with a pop-up roof, offering comfort and excellent wildlife viewing. The scenic drive takes you through the breathtaking landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, where you will make a short stop at the viewpoint to admire the panoramic views before continuing toward Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for your first thrilling game drive across the vast savannah plains. Keep your camera ready as you search for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other wildlife species that call the Mara home. Later in the evening, return to your camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay. Day 2
Excursion through the golden Mara Plains
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems. Your safari is conducted in the 4x4 pop-up roof jeep, allowing you to stand and enjoy unobstructed views of the wildlife and surrounding landscapes. You may choose to begin the day with an optional hot air balloon safari (at extra cost) at sunrise, followed by a memorable bush breakfast in the wilderness. Later, continue with a full-day game drive with picnic lunch, exploring the reserve’s diverse habitats and tracking the famous Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The safari will also take you to the famous Mara River, a dramatic wildlife hotspot especially during the migration season (June to October). Flight to Diani Beach
After breakfast, check out of the camp and drive to the nearby airstrip where you will board your flight to Ukunda Diani Beach. The flight is approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. Upon arrival at Ukunda airstrip, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to your beach hotel. Hear your beach holiday begins with the welcoming sea breeze from the Indian ocean and the sparkling white sands along the beach. For those seeking adventure, there are optional water sports and activities available at an extra charge, including snorkeling, diving, dhow sailing, kite surfing, or deep-sea fishing. I was referred to Arzoni Africa Safaris by a friend. My Canadian boyfriend informed me around June that he was planning to have spend a two weeks safari and beach relaxation in Kenya and Tanzania. Parks of his interest were Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Amboseli, Taita hills, Ol Pajeta and Lake Naivasha. Sam made our safari planning seamless and every request by my boyfriend and I were considered in the final itinerary. Overally, we had 10 days of safari and 4 nights in Zanzibar. The choice of accommodations was amazing and our expectations were met. Food was also excellent except in Elewana Tortilis (Amboseli) which were somewhat too spicy.
