Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe Airport & Transfer to Kampala (1hrs drive)
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the Company Rep will be waiting to receive you and thereafter transfer you to Kampala. You will have a pre-safari briefing on this day to answer all your queries and get all clarifications about the safari. Dependent on your time of arrival, you will enjoy an afternoon tour of Kampala with a visit to the 4Africa Offices, one of the local community initiatives that helps improve the lives of women and children through Craft. There are plenty of beautiful souvenirs you can purchase from purses, necklaces, animated stuffed Knit dolls & so much more Arrivals on Wed, Fri & Sunday, the evenings will be spent at Ndere Cultural Centre, taking you around Ugandan Culture through music & dance. Day 2
Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park (Approx 6hrs Drive)
You'll have an early morning breakfast and check out for your transfer to Kibale National Park. Your arrival will be in time for lunch at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge. You'll have a late afternoon transfer for the 3 hr nature walk in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. The “Home of the Great Blue Turaco” is a real bird watcher’s paradise. This wonderful place shelters over 200 species of birds, including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, Kingfishers, and many more swamp endemics. Furthermore, the sanctuary is the home of 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey, and the Blue Monkey. You will later be transferred back to Chimpanzee Forest Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3
Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park
After breakfast, it’s an early start to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters, arriving by 8:00 am to track the habituated Chimps. These engaging apes, our closest living relative, are great fun to watch as they play and fight in the fruit trees. The experienced guides will introduce you to the different members of the chimp families, as well as the birds and plant life of the forest. The trails through the forest are generally easy to navigate. You are always in the company of park rangers who will explain the fascinating traditional uses of the forest plant species — the forest elephant, smaller and hairier than its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into areas of Kibale Forest. You'll return to the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll tour the Crater Lakes within the area. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge. Kibale National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Approx 6hrs drive)
After breakfast, you'll check out transferring from Kibale National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (North) There will be occasional stops for refueling, leg stretching, and lunch. You will be arriving late afternoon to check in, have dinner, and stay at Ride 4 a Woman. Day 5
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You'll have an early morning transfer to the trailhead in Bwindi Forest, where you will join other guests for a briefing before setting off on the trek. Since gorillas move constantly in search of food, the trek duration will vary, but the anticipation and the beauty of the forest make it all worthwhile. After the gorillas have been located, you will spend an amazing hour in their company. You'll return to your accommodation later afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are included A lunch park will be provided by Ride 4 a Woman, just in case you stay longer in the Forest. Loose-fitting, comfortable, natural colored clothing, good hiking shoes, insect repellent, and a wide hat are recommended to make your trek easy. Any medical conditions must be reported in advance so the necessary assistance can be provided. Each guest will be allocated a local porter to further ease the trek while supporting the local community. Day 6
Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable NP to Lake Mburo NP (Approx 4hrs drive)
You'll have an early morning breakfast and check out, transferring to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping en route for lunch in Mbarara Town. You'll check in the afternoon and have an afternoon game drive. You will settle in for an early dinner as you get ready for the night game drive. Lake Mburo is one of the few parks in Uganda where you can go on a night game drive! At night, there is a whole variety of animals that you would not see during the day, including bush pigs, genet cat, and white-tailed mongoose, to mention but a few. Night drives also give you the best chance of finding leopards and spotted hyena. It is an interesting experience out at night with a spotlight, an unusual twist on your regular game drives. Day 7
Rwonyo Salt Lick Nature Walk & Transfer to Entebbe Airport (Approx 5hrs drive)
In the company of trained park rangers, you'll take an early morning nature walk to the Rwonyo Salt Lick Area. This salt lick is situated around a shallow water hole & wildlife in this Park find this salt lick a favorite place to hang around as they enjoy the salt taste. Among the wildlife species that often visit the salt lick are the Impalas, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Uganda Kob, Elands, Topis, along with zebras, hippos, warthogs, the Rothschild’s giraffes, and many more. Activity lasts approximately 3 hours. You'll return to Eagles Nest for a full breakfast, checking out, and returning to Entebbe for your departure flight. Lunch on this day will be in Entebbe Town at either Café Javas, Protea Hotel, or Lake Victoria Entebbe Hotel before your final transfer to the airport. An Amazing East African Experience
I have traveled to over 80Countries and used countless coordinators and Dianah and her team are absolutely the best. My wife and I recently traveled to Ethiopia, Uganda, and Rawanda for 3 weeks on a trip organized by Dianah. Everything was perfect. Our Driver/Guides, Richard and Robert are both excellent English speakers and very knowledgeable guides as well. Their vehicles are well maintained, clean and comfortable Land Cruisers. The lodges Dianah selected were first class…. With super friendly staff and excellent dining. Trekking to observe Silver Backs up close in the wild is an exhilarating experience I will never forget. My husband and I were married in a civil ceremony in 1993 and di not have time or money for a honeymoon. For many years we have dreamed of a safari to make memories that we could reflect on as we grow older. A chance meeting with Musa led to the safari adventure of our dreams! Their collective knowledge was so helpful in planning and executing our dream anniversary trip. They did not miss any details. Our accommodations were amazing, comfortable and well planned. Our safety was considered a number one priority. So much so, that we never even considered it because we felt so safe and comfortable that we never had to. The people who were assigned to guide us through Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda were extremely professional and their knowledge was unmatched. Musatu was our guide for the majority of our safari and we found him to be so very knowledgeable and seasoned.
