After breakfast, your journey begins with a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of East and Central Africa’s largest and most biodiverse rainforests. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of Rwanda’s lush hills and valleys. Once you arrive, you’ll check in at your lodge and have an en-route lunch before settling in for the evening. Nyungwe is famous for its rich wildlife, including 13 primate species, and its status as one of the best bird-watching destinations in Africa. Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk
Start your day early with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Nyungwe Forest. The forest is home to many primates, and encountering the chimpanzees in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. After the tracking, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy East Africa’s only Canopy Walk, a thrilling walk suspended above the forest, offering stunning views of the lush greenery below. This is a great opportunity to spot blue monkeys, unique bird species, and other wildlife that inhabit the upper levels of the forest. After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to Rwanda's famous mountain gorillas. The drive offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s picturesque hills and terraced farmland. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation, which is conveniently located near the park entrance. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon to relax and prepare for the exciting trek ahead. This evening, enjoy dinner at your lodge while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the Virunga Volcanoes. Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla trekking guidelines. You’ll then be divided into small groups, each assigned to track one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, but the reward of spending time with these incredible creatures is worth every step. Once you’ve observed the gorillas, return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest and lunch. In the evening, unwind and reflect on your extraordinary experience with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Later, visit the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s culture and heritage.
