Day 1
Nairobi- Masai Mara National Reserve
Directly from the airport or after breakfast from your hotel in Nairobi depending on your arrival and departure time, your tour guide will pick you up and leave for Masai Mara. You'll drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This extensive reserve is part of the Serengeti vast plains famously known for its amazing Great Migration of wildebeests and is home to the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos and rhinos. You will have lunch at the camp and relax shortly before proceeding for the afternoon drive. Other animals in the park include the Maasai giraffes, elands, impalas, zebras, topis, and both Thompsons and Grant gazelles. Day 2
Explore Masai Mara National Reserve
After a morning breakfast at 6:30 am, you will leave for a full-day game drive with packed lunch. The search for great wild animals continues. On the plains are large herds of herbivores grazing with cheetahs and leopards hiding in their locations. Reliable rains and plentiful vegetation underpin this extraordinary ecosystem and the millions of herbivores it supports; wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and elephants. At Masai Mara, you will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, the site of the Great Migration when in season in July through October. For more experience at an extra cost, you will have the alternative of visiting the nearby Maasai community to witness their lifestyle and their traditional culture. Another alternative is a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day.
